We are saddened by the loss of Austin Gambill. Austin was running with his high school track team when he was struck by a vehicle. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Austin.

Austin was a member of the headquarters station and graduated from the 2019 Ventura County Explorer Academy with several of our Explorers.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Santa Paula Police Dispatcher Celina Flores. Celina passed away last night after a valiant battle with cancer. Celina had been an employee of the Police Department since March 2015, where she served in an exemplary manner in the vital role of dispatcher.

Congratulations to the four newest SPPD officers! A special Congratulations to Officer Sergio Gutierrez. Officer Gutierrez started as an SPPD explorer where he attained the rank of Explorer Captain. Now he is continuing to serve the city of Santa Paula as it’s newest police officer. Way to go Officer Gutierrez.

The Santa Paula Police Department would like to introduce our four newest officers that graduated from the Rio Hondo Police Academy today. Officer Varela graduated at the top of the class in academics out of 47 recruits. The new officers will begin 19 weeks of field training starting Monday. From left to right Officer Zosimo, Officer Varela, Chief McLean, Officer Gutierrez and Officer Prebble.
