Did you miss out on September’s Live Figure Drawing Session? ✏️ Good news—it’s happening again!

Join local artist Lindsay Tobias on the first Thursday of every month for Live Figure Drawing Sessions at the Bayou Arts Center!

Work from a live, clothed model in a relaxed, social environment while building your confidence, strengthening your observation skills, and developing your technique through a series of timed drawing exercises.

These sessions offer an open practice environment with light instruction, so artists of all experience levels can work at their own pace while receiving guidance, tips, and feedback throughout the evening.

✨ And the best part? This is a Pay What You Can class! ✨
Tickets start at a $15 minimum, with a suggested contribution of $15–$25+. We want to make this ongoing opportunity as accessible as possible for our creative community!

đź“… Thursday, October 1
⏰ 5:30–8:00 PM
👤 Ages 16+
🎟️ Pay What You Can | $15 minimum

Bring your preferred drawing medium, sketchbook, and supplies! Graphite and charcoal will also be available to borrow.

✨We invite school district teachers, homeschool educators, and non-profit teachers teaching in Walton County to nominate themselves or another deserving educator who uses the Arts—whether music, visual art, performing art, literary art, culinary art, or beyond—in meaningful ways to enrich their students’ learning experiences.

Selected teachers will be featured in a special email and social media campaign during Arts in Education Week to highlight their creativity, dedication, and impact.

Meet CAA Member Artist Robyn Martins đź‘‹

As a painter, Robyn Martins prefers to use oil and cold wax, which allows for a certain playfulness with texture and form. Her subjects are almost accidental, and she finishes each piece by creating a space she'd like to stand in, an abstract figure representing a strong woman she admires, or an object she finds beautiful. She also incorporates the work of favorite poets in many of her paintings, adding lines from Whitman, Hopkins, and Dickinson to the composition. Working from her home studio, Robyn is a recent transplant to Santa Rosa Beach, having moved here from Ohio where she exhibited in several shows.

🌿 You asked for more cyanotype, so Stacy is bringing us two chances to create this September! 💙

Join us for Printing with Sunlight: A Cyanotype Workshop with Stacy Martin and discover one of photography’s oldest printing techniques!

In this hands-on, beginner-friendly workshop, you’ll use the power of sunlight and natural materials to create striking blue-and-white prints. Experiment with plants, found objects, and personal keepsakes to create one-of-a-kind botanical and photogram prints. No experience needed!

Choose from two upcoming dates:
💙 September 6 | 1–3 PM
💙 September 24 | 5:30–7:30 PM

Can’t make either September date? Good news—Stacy will also be teaching another cyanotype workshop on October 8 from 10 AM - 12 PM. ✨
