🐢 SEA TURTLE RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT 🐢

Sea Turtle Release at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park

Join us Wednesday, April 22 at 10:00 AM at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park as we release five rehabilitated sea turtles back into their ocean home! 💚

These incredible turtles have each overcome their own challenges with the help of our CARE Center team:
🔹 Pipsqueak (Pictured here: This cutie had a quick turnaround so we didn't get the chance to introduce her)
🔹 Galileo
🔹 Crater
🔹 Taki
🔹 Cheez-it

📍 Topsail Hill Preserve State Park
🕚 Release begins at 10:00 AM
🚍 Please arrive early to allow time for parking and taking the shuttle to the beach!

Note: If there are any weather issues, the release may be delayed but not cancelled. We will announce any delays on our Gulfarium CARE Center page and in our Sea Turtle Release channel on Facebook.

At the 2025 4th Annual Innovate Awards hosted by T-Mobile for Business in Orlando, South Walton Mosquito District received the event’s highest honor—the Malcolm Gladwell Tipping Point Award—along with a $30,000 charitable donation. SWMD earned this distinction for launching the Florida Panhandle’s first drone-powered mosquito control program, using T-Mobile’s 5G technology. This innovative approach has increased efficiency, enhanced environmental stewardship, and demonstrated how small government agencies can leverage cutting-edge technology to better serve their communities.

In the spirit of giving back, SWMD will donate the award funds to the Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. A check presentation ceremony will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Visitor Center at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. Media representatives and members of the public are invited to attend.
