Our TDT Department is responsible for the collection and enforcement of the Walton County TDT per FL Statutes 212 & 125 as well as County Ordinances 91-12 & 2021-01.
The funds we collect are dispersed to the Tourism Department under the Board of County Commissioners for spending in accordance with FL Statute 125 & County Ordinance 2023-09.
While it is a requirement for short-term rental operators to register with us to remit TDT, there are other requirements as well that are separate from our office such as the Short-Term Vacation Rental Certificate program through the Planning Department. Though registration with the TDT Dept. is a prerequisite for the STVR certificate, that certification is not handled by our office.
