Mark your calendars to join the County of Sonoma’s Climate Action and Resiliency Division for a virtual community town hall meeting on November 1, 2023, hosted by Supervisor Lynda Hopkins and Supervisor Susan Gorin. In this open discussion, we will feature efforts and initiatives by a variety of community organizations, county internal and external services, and seek input of development of the County's Climate Master Action Plan (MAP).
Sonoma County’s Board of Supervisors approved a Strategic Plan in March, 2021 to provide the context to inform policies and projects that are prioritized for the next five years. The Strategic Plan identifies Climate Action and Resiliency as one of its five main pillars. The Climate and Resiliency Master Action Plan (Climate & Resilience MAP) will guide implementation of the Climate Action and Resiliency (CAR) Pillar of the County’s Strategic Plan. We are interested in your thoughts and ideas about how best to achieve these goals that affect our whole community.
These goals and objectives cover a broad range of topics, including energy, wildfire, and grid resilience, greenhouse gas reductions, fleet and building electrification, carbon sequestration, and natural and working land adaptation.
