The Sonoma County Office of Education is a strategic partner to the county’s 40 districts and their 175 schools, providing service and support to help them meet legal mandates, operate cost-effectively, and raise student achievement. SCOE provides fiscal oversight to districts and operates schools for special education and alternative education students not enrolled at district sites.

The first days of school are always filled with big smiles, warm welcomes, and incredible energy! 🎒✨ More than 64,000 students across Sonoma County’s 39 school districts have returned to the classroom, bringing so much joy back to campus. “The energy at the start to a new school year is contagious,” shared Sonoma County Superintendent of Schools Dr. Amie Carter. “Across all 39 districts, our teachers, administrators, and staff are eager to support learners of all ages.” Here’s to a happy and successful school year for all of our Sonoma County students, educators, and families! 📚

Is your incoming 5th-8th grader curious about the future of technology? 🤖 SCOE is hosting a series of FREE summer AI workshops designed to help young learners explore the world of Artificial Intelligence!

We are offering five, single-day workshops. Your student only needs to attend one day to get the full experience!

During their session, students will explore what AI is and learn how to use it thoughtfully for learning 🧠, while examining crucial real-world risks like bias and misinformation ⚠️. To wrap it all up, they will dive into a fun, beginner-friendly coding project to get true hands-on experience 💻.

Dates: July 27, 28, 29, 30, or 31 (Choose any 1 day!)
Time: 8:30-11:30 a.m.
Cost: FREE

We’re looking for two Supplemental Van Drivers to join our team for the 2026-27 school year! 🚐 These afternoon positions will safely transport students from Amarosa Academy in Santa Rosa to locations throughout Sonoma County. Drivers will operate a passenger vehicle, oversee student well-being, perform routine safety checks, and must meet standard Department of Transportation and Redwood Empire Schools Insurance Group physical requirements. Running from August 13 to May 28, this role offers 10 to 15 hours per week from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday, and noon to 2:00 p.m. on Thursdays.
