This summer, no child in Sonoma County should go without a healthy meal.

From June 8 to August 7, 2026, the Redwood Empire Food Bank’s Summer Lunch Program will provide free, nutritious meals for kids at sites across the county—including sit-down meals and grab-and-go options at select locations.

Together with our incredible school district and community partners, we’re helping kids stay nourished all summer long.

Today is World Hunger Day—a reminder of why this work matters and why food access is so important for every community. 🍚

It also falls right in the final stretch of Rally for Rice, where we’ve come together all month long with one shared goal: 20,000 bags of rice to help nourish our neighbors.

Rice may be simple, but it’s one of the most important staples for families—turning into countless meals that bring comfort and stability.

If you’ve been thinking about getting involved, there’s still time to be part of this effort. Donate at refb.org/RallyForRice or drop off rice at our warehouse or partner locations, including Oliver’s Market, Whole Foods Market, and select Sonoma County Library branches, before May wraps up.

Families across California should have access to basic necessities that help their children stay healthy and cared for. But right now, California’s diaper bank network faces a critical budget decision. Without continued funding in the 2026–27 state budget, this essential program could shut down on June 30, 2026.

Since 2019, diaper banks across California have helped provide more than 204 million diapers to 1.7 million families and 2.7 million children through trusted local food banks and community partners.

Diapers are a basic need—and for many families, this support brings relief, dignity, and stability during difficult times.
