“You shouldn’t have to jump through hoops to get the food benefits you’re entitled to, and now you don’t have to.” — Governor Gavin Newsom

California has made it easier for college students to apply for CalFresh food benefits, and you may qualify for support.

Thousands of eligible students are not receiving benefits, due to barriers in the application process. With these changes, California expects more than 200,000 additional eligible students to enroll in CalFresh.

Please note that college students are not automatically eligible for CalFresh. They will still need to meet all other CalFresh eligibility requirements.

We've got a recipe for making a difference, and YOU are a key ingredient!

Our Kitchen Collective is cooking up 1,000 meals every day for our On the Spot Nutrition program, providing food for neighbors waiting in line at our distributions. We need extra hands to make it all happen! From chopping and mixing to prepping and packaging, you can help turn fresh ingredients into nutritious meals for our community. Individuals and small teams are welcome to join the fun!

Ready to roll up your sleeves? Join us Monday through Friday for a morning shift (9 AM–12 PM) or an afternoon shift (1–3 PM). Email [email protected], call 707-523-7905, or visit refb.org/volunteer to explore Kitchen Collective volunteer opportunities.

This World Food Day, we recognize the people who help keep our communities nourished, from the farmers who grow our food to the volunteers, food donors and partners who help get it to the people who need it.

At the Redwood Empire Food Bank, we know that ending hunger takes all of us. Every day, our community comes together to help ensure our neighbors across Sonoma, Lake, Mendocino, Humboldt and Del Norte counties have access to the food they need.

Everyone deserves access to nutritious food. Thank you to everyone who plays a part in making that possible. Together, we can build a stronger, more food-secure community.

We’re one week into Project Pasta, and donations are starting to come in!

Every box makes a difference! Donations will help feed our community. This month, our Kitchen Collective volunteers just happen to be making pasta!

While Project Pasta donations are still rolling in and haven’t been tallied yet, they could help stock our kitchen once the food drive wraps up at the end of the month. That means your pasta could help provide meals prepared by Chef Don and our incredible volunteers for neighbors in our community.

Help us keep Project Pasta going strong and reach our goal of 20,000 boxes of pasta by October 31!

When you stop by the rear of our building at 3990 Brickway Blvd., Santa Rosa, Monday–Friday between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, you'll now find a dedicated donation station where you can drop off your items.
