Dear Piner-Olivet Union School Community,
As it is my last week in service as the Superintendent for Piner-Olivet Union School District, I want to take this time to thank everyone for the privilege of serving as your Superintendent for the last four school years. I have sincerely enjoyed collaborating with such a wonderful, dedicated, and talented group of students, educators, and parents/guardians at the Piner-Olivet Union School District. When I refer to educators, I include all staff. Staff who diligently and consistently put our students first in all that they do. This fact, along with the support of the dedicated Piner-Olivet Union School District Board of Trustees, has allowed us to attain several amazing accomplishments over the last four school years. These accomplishments include the amazing work of our Design Team to develop our vision, mission, values, and objectives which will continue to guide the work of our district in future years.
PINER-OLIVET USD Vision:
Inspiring joyful and innovative learning in an ever-changing world
PINER-OLIVET USD Mission:
As a community, we engage in authentic, dynamic, and relevant learning that develops each student's academic, emotional, and social growth.
We have also developed coherence around mathematics and English language arts curriculum and professional learning. We have consistently seen increased student achievement in both subjects in spite of all of the challenges we have gone through together including the Tubbs Fire, the Camp Fire, smoke, the PG&E power shut offs, the Kincade Fire, and now COVID-19. Despite all of these challenges, we have persevered! In addition, we have also added successful after-school enrichment programs for our students including sports, robotics, and academics. Awesome job team - our results have been tremendous and will serve to fortify our community in the coming years.
Piner-Olivet Union School District has some of the most talented, resilient students I have ever known. They have had, and will continue to have, many successes which will bring much recognition to themselves and our schools. I could not be more proud to have been associated with our wonderful students. Looking forward, Piner-Olivet Union School District is very fortunate to have a person with the leadership capabilities of Dr. Tina Rasori to be the interim Superintendent while the Piner-Olivet Board of Trustees progress through their executive search for your next superintendent. You are in good hands with this leadership transition including a team of dedicated and intelligent Principals, an amazing Supervisor of Building and Grounds, and devoted Director of Student Services. Together, with the support of the Piner-Olivet Union School District Board of Trustees, Director of Innovative Learning, and the Chief Business Officer, there is a strong team in place that will ensure that our district continues with our focused goals that are in alignment with our Design Team work. Please see attached our POUSD Strategic Plan which is a culmination of our Design Team work.
Finally and most importantly, THANK YOU to all of our wonderful families and family groups, including the Piner-Olivet Educational Foundation, for choosing our schools and getting the good word out about the amazing work happening at each of our sites. We could not have achieved our success without you, your passion for excellence, and dedication to the students we serve!
Sincerely,
