We're still buzzing from today's volunteer build day! 🎉

A huge thank you to our incredible partners at COAR Design Group, ZFA, and McCarthy Construction for spending the day with us and helping move our four townhomes in Sebastopol one step closer to the finish line.

More than 20 volunteers rolled up their sleeves and tackled an impressive list of projects, including:
🔨 Building a backyard deck (shoutout to the engineers who absolutely crushed it!)
🎨 Painting the backyard fence and exterior trim
🚪 Installing door k***s and completing interior finish work
🌱 Grading and weeding the backyard in preparation for future landscaping
🏡 Grading and leveling the front porch area

With concrete poured just yesterday for the front porches and stairs, these homes are really starting to come together, and you can feel the excitement building.

It was definitely a toasty day, and we all worked up a sweat, but every volunteer left with a smile after seeing how much progress was made in just a few hours.

What made the day even more special was having our Habitat homeowners working alongside our volunteers. There were so many meaningful conversations about what it feels like to see the finish line in sight and to watch their future homes take shape before their eyes. Those moments are what this work is all about.

Thank you again to COAR Design, ZFA, and McCarthy Construction for your partnership, enthusiasm, and hard work. Together, we're building more than homes, we're building community. 💙💚

It's an exciting day! Appliances have been delivered to Blankenship Place!

This past week, Whirlpool appliances were delivered to our four new townhomes in downtown Sebastopol. These homes are starting to feel move-in ready!

For more than 25 years, Whirlpool has been a national partner of ours, helping Habitat families start strong by donating essential kitchen appliances like refrigerators, ranges, and more.

It’s this kind of support that makes a house feel like home from day one: the first meals, family dinners, and all the everyday moments in between.

We’re so grateful for this long-standing partnership! Thank you, Whirlpool for helping us build homes & hope here in our community 💙💚🏡

There’s been SO much activity at our Sebastopol build site lately! 🔨🏡

Garage framing is underway, while our construction dream team (shout out to Niko, Rick, and Gilberto!) have been hard at work installing flooring throughout each of our townhomes. Carpets are going in first, followed by vinyl flooring as we continue moving closer to the finish line!

With so many moving parts, this project has truly been a team effort. It’s exciting and rewarding to see the progress grow week by week and watch these future homes come to life 💙💚

🏡 Our future Habitat homeowners have been hard at work over the last few weeks, continuing to put in their sweat equity hours and helping bring these homes to life. We’ve been busy prepping the foundation for the garages and back patio, finishing up interior details, and looking ahead to building the backyard fence, front porch, and landscaping — and our families have been with us every step of the way.

Every hour spent on site is part of the journey toward safe, stable, and affordable homeownership, and it’s inspiring to watch the progress take shape week by week.

We’re also excited to celebrate a new addition to our Habitat team — welcome, Gilberto! 🎉

Gilberto is an SRJC Construction Corps student who first started volunteering with us months ago, helping build the retaining wall and fence back in August when our current project site was still just a dirt lot. Since then, he’s continued to show up with an incredible work ethic, kindness, and dedication to the mission.

Now, we’re thrilled to officially welcome him as our new Crew Lead! We’re so excited to have him as part of the Habitat family and can’t wait to see all the amazing work ahead.

There’s a lot happening on site as our homes continue to take shape!

The foundations for the garages and back patios are now complete, and garage framing is also underway. Inside the homes, Quality Discount Cabinets is on site installing kitchen and bathroom countertops. These spaces are really taking shape!

We’re also continuing foundation work and site prep for the front porches and sidewalks, getting everything ready for upcoming concrete pours.

And this week, flooring begins! We’ll be installing both carpet and vinyl plank flooring, helping each home move even closer to completion.

Step by step, these homes are coming together 💙🏡

✨ Another Week of Habitat Heroes ✨

We’re proud to spotlight one of our amazing long-time local partners, 5th Generation Painting, and owner Chad Leonard!

For more than 15 years, Chad has generously donated all of the exterior paint for our Habitat home builds (including the paint for our current, four townhouse build in downtown Sebastopol!). Paint is one of the final details that transforms a structure into a home. It's one of the moments when the vision of "home" truly starts to take shape for our Habitat families.

Chad’s commitment goes far beyond materials. He’s always ready to lend a hand, often volunteering his own time to help with exterior painting projects. His generosity, community spirit, and dedication to giving back have made a lasting impact on Habitat and the families we serve.

Thank you, Chad and 5th Generation Painting, for being such incredible partners and Habitat Heroes! 💙🏡🎨
