New Bus Stop Improvements in West County
Sonoma County Transit unveiled a new passenger waiting shelter this month at the West County Services Center bus stop in Guerneville. This bus stop serves intercity route 20 and the local route 28 ‘River Shuttle’ providing a much-improved experience for passengers traveling throughout the Lower Russian River area or east toward Forestville, Sebastopol and Santa Rosa.

In addition to the new shelter, the improved bus stop includes a new electronic information sign showing real-time bus arrival times that are also available through the Transit app. The local route 28 ‘River Shuttle’ is fare-free for everyone. With valid identification, fares are also free on Intercity Route 20 for youth (18 and under), college students, and veterans.

A longtime member of our legal community, Justin Milligan, recently experienced a life-altering accident. For decades, Justin has supported those in need through his work as a volunteer at our Law Library and as an attorney with Sonoma County Legal Aid. We invite our community to come together and support him during this difficult time.

The Supreme Court declined to consider a challenge to its landmark 2015 decision recognizing a constitutional right to same-sex marriage.

The announcement indicates there is not an appetite among the high court’s conservative majority to revisit one of the court’s most significant decisions in recent years.

Meet the Sonoma County Law Library

We are proud that our library stands out as a beautiful jewel for Northern California. We are open six days a week and we are located by the Superior Court of Sonoma with free parking and easy access to and from Freeway 101.

Our collection is over 26,000 books, CDs, and other material and it is offered to you without any charge. There are updated federal and state codes, statutes and regulations as well as a huge number of secondary sources including treatises, law reviews, encyclopedias, ALR annotations, Restatements, dictionaries, and legal newspapers. Guidebooks from CEB, Matthew Bender, Thompson Reuters, Rutter Group, and many other publishers are available for the public. We provide, also without any charge, online legal databases such as Westlaw and Advance LexisNexis. The Library also provides MCLE Self-Study materials.

The quiet reading room is a great place to study and has tables with power outlets for your laptops. There is free Wi-Fi and all our computers are connected to the internet. You can also print from any computer, copy, scan and fax documents. The library has conference rooms for small meetings or depositions and a larger room with a projection screen for large groups that can hold up to about thirty people comfortably.

The Sonoma County Law Library is now an official U.S. Dept. of State Passport Acceptance Facility. With this status we offer the convenience of applying for and/or renewing your passport without the hassle of going someplace with lines and expensive parking. We have all the paperwork you’ll need to apply for a passport. You can make an appointment and we’ll quickly and efficiently process your application.
