Sonoma County History & Genealogy Library Sonoma County History & Genealogy Library In October 1994, the collection relocated to a building adjacent to the library at 725 3rd Street.

Located in downtown Santa Rosa, the History & Genealogy Library serves Sonoma County residents and visiting researchers with reference, archival, and digital collections on county and regional history and culture, as well as resources for family history research. The History & Genealogy Library started in 1967 as the “Sonoma County Room” on the upper floor of the Central Santa Rosa Library. Since

that time, the library has steadily expanded its collections and staff to meet the needs of our growing, changing community.

All libraries will be closed Tuesday, June 2 for staff training.

Santa Rosa Ballet Company, Season 68 pamphlet, available at the H&G Library.

The Santa Rosa Ballet School presented their 1968 season with performances at the Luther Burbank Memorial Theatre on the Santa Rosa Junior College campus. One interested citizen from Healdsburg wrote into the Press Democrat to praise the performance of Deborah Schweitert, and to critique the paper for not publishing a review of "what was truly a cultural event in your city."

Learn about the northernmost section of the of the Camino Real (connecting the 21 missions in California) in this virtual presentation. Dr. Meyerhof has found overlooked material that sheds light on the last portion of this trail as it crossed the ridges of the Sonoma Mountains.

On Saturday, May 16, H&G Library staff welcome Peter Meyerhof to discuss his research on Zoom. Advanced registration required.

Dr. Peter Meyerhof is a retired dentist and cell biologist. His passion has been researching the early history of Sonoma County. His historical research has taken him to primary sources in archives and libraries across the country.
