A simple phone call, a shared meal, or a friendly conversation can make all the difference. ❤️

A recent Press Democrat article highlights a growing concern in Sonoma County: too many older adults are experiencing loneliness and social isolation. For some, days can pass without meaningful interaction, impacting both physical and emotional well-being.

At Council on Aging, we see the power of connection every day. Through our Community Dining sites, Spanish- and English-Language Memory Cafés, Adult Day Dementia Program, PEARLS, peer support programs, and volunteer activities, older adults and caregivers can build relationships, find support, and stay engaged in their communities.

💚 No one should have to navigate aging alone. Together, we can create a more connected and caring Sonoma County.

Did you know? Through Council on Aging's Meals on Wheels program, eligible participants can also receive monthly dog or cat food through our Kibbles of Kindness program.

We know that pets provide comfort, companionship, and joy, and no older adult should have to choose between feeding themselves and feeding their beloved pet. ❤️🐶🐱

Thank you to the organizers of the North County Senior Resource Fair for inviting Council on Aging to be part of such a meaningful community event!
We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with older adults, caregivers, families, and community partners while sharing resources that support healthy aging and independent living. It was wonderful to see so many organizations come together with a shared commitment to serving our community.

Thank you to the Town of Windsor, Sonoma County Area Agency on Aging, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and everyone who attended and stopped by our table. We enjoyed meeting you, answering questions, and sharing information about the programs and services available through Council on Aging.

Together, we are creating a stronger, more connected community for older adults and their families.

💙 Thank you for having us. We look forward to participating in future community events and continuing to support older adults and caregivers throughout Sonoma County.
