Thank you to our Public Works & City of Weslaco for the routine cleaning and maintenance of the drain lines have begun today in the placita area and will continue throughout the city. Residents are reminded not to pour grease, oils, chemicals, or other debris down drains, as these materials can clog the drainage system. Remember, these ongoing cleanings help keep the drainage systems clean. Thank you to our City Manager , City council and City Staff for making this happen.

On May 12, 2026, the Santa Rosa Police Department hosted a Taser Certification course. The course certified officers to carry and use the Taser X26 and X26P. Chief Garcia provided the instruction as a recently re-certified Taser Instructor. In attendance were Lt. Quintanilla from SRPD and three officers from Primera PD. Our departments often work side-by-side on calls for service and our goal is to provided for the safety and security of the officers and the public.
