No School - Monday - Orchard Hills would like to wish all students, staff, and families a Happy Labor Day on Monday, September 7, 2026! In honor of this national holiday, there will be no school that day, giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved three-day weekend. Take this time to rest, recharge, and celebrate the contributions of workers in our community and across the country. Classes will resume as usual on Tuesday, September 8. Have a safe and relaxing Labor Day weekend!

We have noticed that both morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up times can get quite busy. Our top priority is ensuring that every child arrives and leaves school safely. With this in mind, we would like to share a few friendly reminders that will help make the process smoother and safer for everyone:

Two Drop-off Areas:
There are two designated drop-off and pick-up areas at our school. The area in front of the school is being used by many families, but please remember there is a larger area just east of the school that can accommodate more cars and help ease congestion.

Accessible Entrances:
All doors near both drop-off areas are open in the mornings, so students can safely and easily enter the building no matter which area you use.

Please Pull Forward:
To keep the line moving and reduce wait times for everyone, we kindly ask that you pull all the way forward when using the drop-off lanes. While it may be tempting to drop your student off right at the door, our caring staff and adult supervisors are stationed outside to assist and ensure all students make it safely to their classrooms.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and support in keeping our school community safe and welcoming. Working together, we can make drop-off and pick-up a positive experience for all.

Orchard Hills Second Graders Ignite Olympic Spirit with Torch Lighting Ceremony

Excitement filled the gymnasium at Orchard Hills as second grade students kicked off their very own Olympic Games with a vibrant torch lighting ceremony. Each class proudly represented one of the core Olympic values—Determination (keep on trying), Respect (your actions matter), Courage (being scared but doing it anyway), Excellence (doing your very best), Resilience (being willing to change), and Collaboration (working together for success). The students marched around the gym waving flags, their faces beaming with pride and anticipation.

As the students represented their class in their class color, cheers echoed throughout the gym, and the students pledged to embody these values throughout the games ahead. The event not only celebrated athletic fun, but also reinforced the importance of character, teamwork, and perseverance. With such a spirited start, Orchard Hills’ second graders are sure to have an Olympic Games to remember!

Orchard Hills Elementary kicked off the new school year in spectacular fashion, with Ozzy making a special appearance to greet both students and teachers. Excitement filled the air as students strutted down a red carpet, beaming with big smiles and anticipation for the journey ahead. The festive atmosphere set a positive tone for the year, and while students thoroughly enjoyed the celebrations, the day left everyone happily exhausted. After a well-deserved good night's rest, the entire Orchard Hills community is eager to return and continue their adventure together

Welcome Shonda Morse: Our New Librarian with a Passion for Books and Adventure!

Orchard Hills Elementary is thrilled to welcome Shonda Morse as our new librarian! With nearly 27 years of dedicated service in Nebo School District—including 21 years as a Title One Tech and five years as a librarian—Shonda brings a wealth of experience and a contagious enthusiasm for sharing the joy of reading with young minds. Her love for inspiring students makes her a perfect fit for our school family. Outside of school, Shonda enjoys spending time with her two beloved dogs, Daisy and Dolly, and pampering her treat-loving mule. A committed runner and adventurer, she’s always training for races or planning her dream trip to Greece. We are so excited to have Shonda join our team and can’t wait to see the energy and creativity she brings to our library and community!

Teachers at Orchard Hills started the new school year in full bloom, coming together to arrange vibrant flower displays as part of their welcome-back celebration. Embracing this year’s inspiring theme, “Let’s Root for Each Other and Help Each Other Grow,” educators filled the halls with both beautiful arrangements and a renewed sense of community. The collaborative activity was not only a creative way to set a positive tone for the year but also a reminder of the school’s commitment to supporting one another. With the classrooms nearly ready and spirits high, staff members are eagerly looking forward to welcoming students back next week, ready to nurture growth and success together.
