Training never stops at SCFD! This week, our firefighters focused on pump operations and drafting while also spending time getting familiar with our new Engine 1.

Pump training is essential to ensuring our crews can quickly and efficiently operate the engine's pumping system, establish a dependable water supply, and deliver water where it’s needed most. Drafting exercises allow firefighters to practice pulling water from alternative sources when hydrants are unavailable.

We’re proud of our members’ commitment to continuous training and readiness so that we may serve our community!

Congratulations to Caleb Randall for completing and passing fire academy! He is now the newest certified firefighter on the department! If you see him around, tell him congratulations!

Engine 1 is arriving today! It will be positioned in front of the station early this afternoon for the public to view.

At 6:00 PM, the SCFD will officially conduct the traditional “push-in” ceremony for Engine 1. Community members are invited to attend, tour the new engine, and witness its ceremonial first entry into the station.

The major components are installed and the parts carts are almost empty. This can only mean one thing... Delivery Day is right around the corner for Saranac Community Fire Department 's (MI) new pumper!
