We believe in the healing power of rhythm, movement, and connection which is why we have live music every single day at 1pm!!

Whether it’s dancing in our chairs, singing along to the classics, or busting a move on the dance floor...

Music lifts our members spirits, gets their bodies moving, and brings everyone together in the most beautiful way!

For our members, it’s more than entertainment. It’s therapy for the soul, connection through singing, and a celebration of life’s best moments!!

🇺🇸 A Day to Remember. A Day to Honor. A Day to Be Grateful. 🇺🇸

Yesterday at ActivAge, our Club was filled with red, white, blue… and a whole lot of heart.

As our members dressed in patriotic colors, smiled for photos, sang along, shared stories, and enjoyed being together, we were reminded of something very important:

Memorial Day is a day to pause and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives for our country — the heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice so we could enjoy the freedoms we have today!

✨ Gratitude for our country.
✨ Gratitude for those who served.
✨ Gratitude for the families who sacrificed.
✨ And gratitude for the freedom to gather together, celebrate life, and honor those who made it possible.

💬 "When can I come back?" 🩵 That was the very first thing Joan's husband said after his free guest pass at ActivAge.

Like so many families, Joan wasn't sure what to expect. Her husband was nervous about attending. Would he fit in? Would he enjoy it? Would he want to come back?

Then something wonderful happened.

Throughout the day, our team shared photos of him smiling, engaging, and even dancing. And when Joan saw those pictures, she knew.

She had found the right place.

Today, he talks about the food, the friendships, the activities, and the wonderful team members who make each day special. Most importantly, he walks through our doors with a smile on his face.

And for Joan, that smile means everything.

Because when your loved one is having fun, making connections, and looking forward to tomorrow, the feeling is priceless for caregivers:

🩵 A chance to breathe.

🇺🇸 Red, White & Brushstrokes Too! 🎨 Today, our members rolled up their sleeves and painted their very own patriotic flag — and the results were pretty amazing!

❤️ A few popsicle sticks.
🤍 A little red, white, and blue.
💙 Some creativity.
🇺🇸 And a whole lot of pride!!

But like everything we do at ActivAge, it wasn’t just about the craft.

✨ It was about the conversations around the table.
✨ The smiles seeing each other's flag come together.
✨ The memories sparked sharing stories about American pride.
✨ The joy of making and creating something yourself.

These are the simple moments that turn into meaningful experiences — where creativity, connection, purpose, and a little American spirit all come together!

🇺🇸 Patriotic Party Mix — Cooking Demo! 🇺🇸 Today, Tom stepped up as our official volunteer and helped Chef JJ and Chamika kick off our cooking demonstration in true patriotic fashion.

On the menu? An old favorite with a red, white, and blue twist… our very own "Patriotic Party Mix!"

There’s something special about watching our members take part in the little moments — pouring, mixing, reminiscing, taste-testing, and becoming part of the experience instead of just watching it happen!

Because at ActivAge, it’s never just about including an afternoon snack on the menu.

✨ It’s about giving our members a chance to participate.
✨ It’s about creating magical moments and a sense of purpose.
✨ It’s about bringing people together around the table.

And today… it was about keeping that American spirit flowing one scoop of party mix at a time. Way to go, Tom!

🇺🇸 While the World Enjoys a Day Off... Caregivers Never Stop! ❤️ Let’s be honest…

Holidays aren’t really holidays for most family caregivers.

Not the way most people think of them. Picture this:

✨ Mary, an adult daughter caring for her aging mom who lives with her.
✨ She’s raising two young kids.
✨ She’s balancing a full-time job, a busy household, and the quiet emotional weight of watching her mom need more help than she used to.

Then, the Memorial Day weekend comes around.

The world slows down a little. People are planning BBQs, beach days, long weekends, and family get-togethers.

Sounds nice, right?

But for Mary, it’s not really a day off.

It’s just another day with the same caregiving responsibilities… but now with more expectations attached to it.

✔️ Instead of sleeping in, she’s helping her mom get dressed.
✔️ Instead of relaxing at the cookout, she’s making sure medications are taken on time.
✔️ Instead of enjoying the holiday weekend, she’s trying to keep her mom comfortable, keep her kids entertained, keep the house running, and keep herself from completely falling apart.

And somewhere in the middle of all of that…

She’s supposed to pause, reflect, remember, celebrate, host, show up, smile, and somehow make the day meaningful for everyone else.

But when does she get a moment to breathe?

That’s why, at ActivAge Sarasota, we’ve made a very intentional decision:

We stay open on every holiday except Thanksgiving and Christmas Day.

So, Yes! We're OPEN on Memorial Day!! 🇺🇸 — Monday, May 25th

Because while Memorial Day is a day of remembrance, gratitude, and honoring those who gave everything for our freedom…

We also know the responsibilities of caregiving don't just stop for the holiday.

✨ Medications still need to be managed.
✨ Meals still need to be prepared.
✨ Personal care still has to happen.
✨ The worry still follows our families around.

And caregivers deserve a break…

✅ without guilt
✅ without pressure
✅ without having to “do it all”

Because we don’t just care for our members. We care for the whole family!!

❤️ We also celebrate the incredible humans who make this possible — our ActivAge team!

While many are off enjoying BBQs and beach days, our team shows up on holidays, weekends, through storms, power outages, and more. Some are working two jobs, raising kids, or going to school — yet they still pour their hearts into serving others.

To every team member who chooses to make a difference today:
