Today's the day we celebrate our fearless Information Technology Director, Kevin Wright, who's been putting up with our tech woes for 20 whole years. Kevin's not only a master of all things digital, but he's also our resident historian. We're lucky to have him. Happy 20th JFCS anniversary, Kevin!! 👏🎉

We're excited to welcome ESPN reporter and advocate Lauren Sisler to Camp Mariposa this Saturday!

Lauren will be spending the day with us to get a behind-the-scenes look at Camp Mariposa, our free addiction prevention and mentoring program for youth ages 9–17 who have been impacted by a family member's substance use.

Together, we're helping young people build resilience, find hope, and know they are never alone. 💙

Sometimes, something as simple as a bicycle can change a life.

When our partners at Gulf Coast JFCS reached out to our Operation Military Assistance Program (OMAP) Outreach & Diversion Specialist for help, they stepped in to secure a bicycle for a South African refugee living in Sarasota.

That bicycle is more than transportation; it's a pathway to opportunity. It allows the client to travel to work, attend essential appointments, and move forward with greater independence and stability.

Stories like this remind us that when organizations work together, we can remove barriers that no one agency could overcome alone. Community partnerships don't just connect resources; they change lives.

💙 Together, we're building a stronger, more connected community.

Mental health care should be accessible, compassionate, and culturally responsive for everyone. 💚

During BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month, we recognize the unique challenges that Black, Indigenous, and People of Color may face in accessing quality mental health care. Historical trauma, discrimination, and systemic barriers continue to impact mental well-being and make it harder for many individuals to seek the support they deserve.

At JFCS of the Suncoast, we are committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment where every person is treated with dignity, respect, and compassion. We believe that healing begins with being heard, understood, and supported.

If you or someone you love is struggling, you don't have to face it alone. Help is here.

Caring for a loved one can be incredibly rewarding, but it can also feel overwhelming at times. No one should have to navigate that journey alone.

Our Caregiver Support Group provides a welcoming space where caregivers can connect with others who understand, gain practical resources from community experts, and learn valuable skills on topics like hurricane preparedness and self-care.

Participants tell us they leave feeling more supported, more confident, and less alone. Together, they're building resilience and finding strength in community. 💙

If you're caring for a loved one, we're here for you.

Doing the right thing isn't always easy.

Recently, a therapist in our Adolescent Diversion & Assistance Program (ADAP) had to make a difficult, legally required report to help ensure a young client's safety.

As you can imagine, it temporarily strained their relationship. For the next two sessions, the teen was withdrawn, upset, and reluctant to engage.

Instead of pushing, the therapist continued to show up with consistency, empathy, and a nonjudgmental, supportive presence.

Then came the breakthrough.

During a recent session, the client began to re-engage and even expressed a desire to continue working with their therapist after completing the program.

The takeaway?

Trust isn't built because every conversation is easy. It's built when someone continues to show up with compassion, professionalism, and unwavering support, even through the most difficult moments.

That's the power of therapy. 💙
