🎉 Our first Feed the Need Bingo Night is officially in the books! 🎉

What a night! A huge THANK YOU to our table sponsors, bingo and raffle sponsors, in-kind donors, and everyone who joined us for an evening of fun, connection, and giving back.

Because of your incredible support, we raised more than $3,000 to support our homebound senior neighbors right here in Sarasota!

That means 300+ meals, 300+ smiles, and numerous wellness checks will make their way into our community—all because of YOU. 💙

469 meals. One incredible community effort. 💜🍽️

This week, the culinary team from Gecko’s Grill & Pub did more than lend a helping hand—they cooked the meal of the day for our senior and homebound neighbors!

Gecko’s team prepared a delicious menu of slow-smoked BBQ pork, Gouda mac & cheese and collard greens, which was served with a sweet roll. Then, they joined Meals on Wheels of Sarasota staff and volunteers in our kitchen to portion, assemble and pack all 469 meals for delivery throughout our community.

We loved having Gecko’s Executive Chef James Veldhouse and members of their culinary team bring their talents into our kitchen and take the meal from preparation to packed trays ready for our neighbors.

And, as always, each delivery is More Than a Meal. Along with freshly prepared food, our volunteers deliver a friendly face, meaningful connection and a wellness check to our homebound neighbors. 💜

💙 A summer spent giving back.

What started two years ago with a day of volunteering turned into a summer of making a difference for Jessica and her two sons, Emmanuel and Gabriel.

This summer they helped deliver meals in a variety of different locations throughout Sarasota. Along the way, they built genuine connections, shared plenty of conversations, and even made a few memories they’ll be taking home with them.

Jessica shared a simple reminder that captures the heart of their summer: “Everyone ages, so we should all be kind to each other.”

We’re so grateful for this family and the kindness they shared with our clients all summer long. ❤️

Did you know that for many older adults living alone, a beloved pet is more than a companion—it's family? ❤️🐾

Pets provide comfort, purpose, companionship, and motivation to stay active. For many of our clients, they're a constant source of unconditional love.

At Meals on Wheels of Sarasota, we believe caring for our clients means caring for the companions they cherish most. Through our Pet Love Program, eligible clients can receive supplemental dog or cat food, helping ensure both they and their furry family members have the nourishment they need.

We're honored to support clients like Adriana and Linda and their adorable companions Bandit, Blue, and Muppet. Their stories remind us that when we help keep pets healthy and at home, we're also helping reduce loneliness, ease financial stress, and preserve the special bond between people and their pets. 💙

Did you see one of our incredible volunteers was featured in SRQ Magazine and was nominated as a 2025 Good Hero. Carey has been volunteering with us since 2019, after a career of many travels.

When Carey noticed that one of our clients Greg, had no washing machine to clean his sheets, she took action delivering so much More Than a Meal.💙

What an amazing evening filled with incredible nonprofits and the wonderful women of Sisterhood For Good who have a heart for making our community a better place. 💖 We were honored to be selected as one of this years recipients where we will be able to provide more than 900 meals to seniors and homebound individuals in Sarasota.

WE DID IT!!! SFG is SO proud to have awarded $150,095 to 29 LOCAL NONPROFITS on Thursday ~ June 25, 2026. to all the WINNING RECIPIENTS!
