Americans United for Separation of Church and State is a national, non-partisan advocacy and educational organization dedicated to preserving the constitutional principle of church-state separation as the way to ensure religious freedom for all Americans. Founded in 1947, Americans United represents members and supporters in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. We come from different religi

ous, political and philosophical viewpoints, but we share a common commitment to church-state separation and individual freedom. Our membership is diverse, comprised of religious leaders and people from many different faiths and no faith. All are dedicated to preserving the First Amendment of the Constitution and freedom of personal beliefs.
