Exciting Leadership Announcement!
Sarasota County Schools is pleased to announce that Mr. Jamal Crook has been appointed as the new Principal of Booker High School, effective Monday, June 1.
“I am humbled to serve as the new principal of Booker High School,” said Mr. Crook. “I am committed to fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and academic excellence for all students, teachers, and staff members. It will be an honor to build upon—and forge new—milestones with such a dynamic school community. I look forward to partnering with all community members and stakeholders to support the success and wellbeing of our students.”
Mr. Crook brings a wealth of leadership experience and a strong academic background. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Murray State University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University. His certifications span Biology (Grades 6–12), Educational Leadership, PreK–Primary Education, and School Principalship.
Most recently, Mr. Crook served as Principal of Buchanan Middle School in Tampa, and he has also held leadership roles at Bloomingdale High School, Ben Hill Middle School, and NLT Academy. In addition, he has contributed to higher education as an Adjunct Professor and supported school leadership through executive coaching.
