🍓 A sweet milestone at the Adelphi Street Shelter!

The first strawberry has been harvested from a garden made possible through a grant and partnership with Pitney Meadows Community Farm.

Inspired by the vision of a shelter resident and brought to life with support from Pitney Meadows, the garden creates opportunities for fresh food, connection, and a sense of accomplishment along the way.

Thank you, Pitney Meadows, for helping this project grow. 💙🌱

💙 June is PTSD Awareness Month 💙

PTSD can affect anyone who has experienced trauma.

In 2025:
• 14% of individuals living in RISE Residential Programs were diagnosed with PTSD.
• 21% of the 170 individuals served at SunRISE Retreat (Intensive Crisis Residence) were diagnosed with PTSD.

At RISE, we support healing through trauma-informed care, safe housing, crisis services, and meaningful community connections.

Together, we can reduce stigma, increase understanding, and remind those affected by PTSD that they are not alone. 💙

RISE is proud to share that our CEO, Sybil Newell, will be serving as a panelist at the 24th Annual New York Supportive Housing Conference on June 18.

As part of the session, "Siting Insights: Building Support for Supportive Housing," Sybil will join fellow leaders from across New York State to discuss the importance of supportive housing and strategies for building stronger, more welcoming communities.

Her passion, vision, and commitment to creating opportunities for stability, recovery, and belonging continue to inspire all of us at RISE. We are grateful for her leadership and proud to see her representing RISE on this important panel.
