August has come to an end, and we are thrilled to welcome September!

Throughout August, the dedicated members of the Greenfield Fire District responded to 66 calls for service, always ready to assist our community whenever needed.

Robert Williams is a proud member of Maple Avenue. We would like to recognize and sincerely thank Robert for his service and response efforts during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

We also extend our deepest gratitude to Robert and to all of the first responders who answered the call that day, as well as those who continue to serve and protect our communities every day.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸

The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors passed a resolution observing the 25th anniversary of 9/11, honoring the memory of those who lost their lives and calling on residents to observe this solemn occasion with remembrance, reflection, and gratitude to those who served. The Board also recognized four local residents with personal connections to the events of that day and provided them with a ceremonial copy of the resolution.

Joe Fodera, Halfmoon Town Justice, was an NYPD detective who was at the towers on 9/11 and was assigned to the site for months afterward.

Robert “Bobby” Williams, former Saratoga Springs Fire Chief, was a former member of the NY-TF 2 Urban Search and Rescue team and served as a rescue technician specialist deployed to New York City during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Tamim Fares, a U.S. Army sergeant and Saratoga County Veterans Service Officer, served in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of the Global War on Terror following the 9/11 attacks.

Frank Tatum, a Stillwater resident, lost his mother, Diane Moore Parsons, who worked in the towers and was killed on 9/11. He represented 9/11 victims’ families for many years.

July is officially behind us, and we’re excited to kick off August!

During the month of July, the dedicated members of the Maple Avenue Fire Company proudly responded to 73 calls for service, answering the call whenever our community needed us. This was a record-setting month for our station, making it the busiest month we’ve experienced in the past two years. We couldn’t be more proud of the commitment and professionalism our volunteers demonstrated throughout the month.

Update as of 8 PM. The roadway has been reopened. 

‼️‼️Route 50 is closed at Old Gick North/ Ingersoll Road and Perry Road due to power lines down. Avoid the area. ‼️‼️

🚧 Please follow all directions from emergency responders.
Firefighters, law enforcement officers, and utility crews may close roads or redirect traffic to keep everyone safe. These restrictions are in place for your protection and the safety of those working at the scene.

A little patience and awareness can prevent serious injuries and help emergency crews do their jobs safely.
