Saratoga Springs Public Library The mission of the Saratoga Springs Public Library is deliver resources and experiences that engage, entertain, educate, and empower our entire community.

About the Library

The library is chartered to serve the residents of the Saratoga Springs Enlarged City School District. It is governed by a seven member board elected by district residents. Funds to operate the library come primarily from school district property taxes, and district residents must vote upon increases in local tax support. The current 58,626 square foot building, which opened in

1995, is located on 1.92 acres in downtown Saratoga Springs one block east of Broadway between Henry and Putnam Streets. Mission: Delivering resources and experiences that engage, entertain, educate, and empower our entire community. Vision

The Library maintains a presence on several social media platforms to promote events and services and showcase the Library. Social media services include any web-based tool such as a blog, online forum, content-sharing website and any other digital channel established for online interaction and connection, including but not limited to Facebook, X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram. The Library reserves the right to moderate the public’s use and access to the Library’s pages on these platforms. While the Library welcomes comments and posts related to topics and matters of public interest that have been identified and raised by the Library for discussion on social media platforms, the Library does not intend to create an open forum through its social media presence and postings. Any of the following comments by the public on Library social media channels may be hidden or removed:

1. Obscene comments or hate speech;

2. Personal attacks, harassment or any violent, racist, sexist or threatening language;

3. Potentially libelous or defamatory statements;

4. Plagiarized or copyrighted material;

5. Commercial messages or spam;

6. Comments pertaining to organized political/partisan activities;

7. Material that is deemed off-topic, inappropriate, or offensive;

8. Information that, in the Library’s discretion, is private or personal, even if posted by the person to which it pertains;

9. Information that compromises the safety and security of the public or Library staff;

10. Postings made through a falsification of identity;

11. Hyperlinks to material not directly related to the discussion;

12. Any illegal activity;

13. Solicitation for donations, memberships, or services requiring a fee for any non-Library purpose;

14. Photos or other multimedia files that may fall into any of the above categories. The Director or Director’s designee will monitor the Library’s social media pages and remove or hide comments and postings that violate the policy; the Library may disable all comments on certain posts. In addition, violators may be blocked or banned from one or all of the Library’s social media channels and may lose Library privileges on a temporary or permanent basis. Adopted: October 2025

Here is how everyone can get involved:

👶👦 Kids: Sign up to grab your free book, log your minutes to help unlock new STEM library activities, or earn a special library beach towel and other prizes!

🎒😎 Teens: Teens will be challenged to complete missions, each one helping them very earn prizes and street cred!

🙌☕ Adults: Grab a BINGO card at the Information Desk and join us for "Unearth A Story inspired programming.
