Tonight we had the opportunity to welcome two new members to our family, Jed & Rhob! We’re excited to have them join the team and look forward to serving alongside them.

We also spent the evening training on vehicle extrication and stabilization using our Rescue 42 struts. The hands-on training, teamwork, and dedication to sharpening our skills made for a great night. We were having so much fun we just kept going lol.

Training like this helps ensure we’re always ready when our community needs us most. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out tonight. It was great seeing so many of you step up, lend advice, and help each other out — that’s what the fire family is all about.

Liberty Utility customers in Sarcoxie Proper: Due to transmission line pole repairs following today’s storm, power will temporarily go dark within the next hour. Restoration is expected to take less than an hour once work begins.

We appreciate your patience as crews work quickly and safely to restore service.

We would like to ask if you do not live in the immediate affected area from the storm today please stop driving around in those areas as it is getting congested and making it harder for personnel to work on opening up the roadways.

A quick reminder for our community: Outdoor warning sirens mean an active threat. We do NOT issue an “all clear” by siren. If you hear them, take shelter and stay tuned to reliable weather updates until conditions improve.

A system will bring widespread showers and thunderstorms through the area Thursday night into early Friday morning. The strongest storms will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, small hail, and a brief spin-up tornado.

There is a high chance 70-90% for thunderstorms Friday evening into the overnight hours. All severe hazards are possible however damaging winds are the most widespread concern, especially along and northwest of I-44. Remain weather area Friday Evening!
