With persistent dry conditions (D1 - Moderate status on the U.S. Drought Monitor) and forecasted hot/dry conditions continuing, the risk of fire danger in our area is elevated.

Please take extra precautions:
✅ Avoid unnecessary burning.
✅ Never leave fires unattended.
✅ Keep water or a fire extinguisher nearby.

Your awareness and caution can help prevent wildfires. Stay tuned for updates on burning conditions in our area.

🚒 Hydrant Testing Is Underway! 💧

Tonight, our firefighters spent the evening out testing fire hydrants throughout part of our district to help ensure they are ready when they’re needed most.

Hydrant testing helps us:
✅ Verify water flow and pressure
✅ Identify hydrants that need maintenance or repairs
✅ Ensure reliable water supply for emergency response
✅ Keep our community better protected

This was just one evening of testing. We still have additional areas to cover and will be scheduling more hydrant testing days in the near future until every hydrant in our district has been inspected.

Thank you to our firefighters who volunteer their time to complete these important tasks. Your dedication helps keep our department prepared and our community safe.

If you experience temporary discolored water after testing in your area, simply run your cold water for a few minutes until it clears.

**Attention**

Sarcoxie Rural Fire will be doing up keep on fire hydrant in town. If this disrupts the quality of water please call and leave a message at City Hall at 417-548-7242 or message us on Facebook. Public works has flushed the water lines to hopefully pervent any discoloration. Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

Sarcoxie Rural Fire Protection District is accepting bids for fence cleanout around the station. This will include cleaning all the brush and smaller trees from the perimeter fence at our station located at 1617 High st. Sarcoxie MO. This will include spraying fence line to make sure the stumps don't resprout.
