YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE: WATCH YOUR WAKE!

All watercraft can create waves, but a wake created in the wrong place can be costly to your wallet and dangerous to those in the vicinity.

You're responsible for your wake

The Texas Water Safety Code states a boat operator is always responsible for the wake caused by a boat until it flattens out. This is true for all boats, including borrowed or rentals.

• If a wake created by your boat causes a child to be bounced off a nearby dock, you can be held legally responsible for that injury.
• Or, if a wake created by your boat causes damage to a dock or walkway, you can be held legally and monetarily responsible.

Caney Creeks water level has been high from both the Hurricane and the recent flooding from heavy rains. Please use caution when operating your boats.

Recon reports the pressure is starting to fall and winds slowly starting to increase…BRO radar shows the start of the formation of a southern eyewall…Beryl is starting to rebuild its inner core.

A faster rate of intensification is expect up to landfall…the landfall intensity of 85mph could be higher (90-100mph).

Complete all preparations by this evening as weather conditions will deteriorate quickly overnight.

White/Male/Age 23/

On February 27, 2024 at 7:00am the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office was contacted by TDCJ reporting an escaped inmate from the Stringfellow Unit in Rosharon, TX. At this time there are very few details to report. We will continue to update the public as details emerge.

We ask the public to report any suspicious persons or circumstances by calling 911.

Please be careful walking up and down stairs with the icy conditions. We have already had a couple of slip and falls in the community. Family Dollar currently has a pallet of Ice Melt/ Rock Salt. This is basically the same product Texas Department of Transportation uses for the roads and bridges. Please limit travel as we move into the overnight hours due to the weather conditions.
