ATHLETIC EVENT ADMISSION & ENTRY POLICY — CLARIFICATION

To ensure that all families and guests have accurate information regarding admission to Satsuma High School athletic events, please review the following policies:

ADMISSION

1. Children ages 4 and under are admitted FREE.
2. School-age children, ages 5 and older, are required to purchase a ticket.
3. SHS students who have earned an Academic Card are admitted FREE when they present BOTH their Academic Card and their school-issued student ID at the gate. We appreciate your patience as we are currently verifying the academic reports from new students to SHS. (7th Grade and/or transfer students)
The first game of the season was an exception in which all SHS students received free admission.

TICKET PURCHASES
Tickets may be purchased in advance through GoFan OR at the gate. Purchasing through GoFan is an option and is not required for admission.

CLEAR BAG POLICY
Satsuma High School has a CLEAR BAG POLICY for athletic events. Guests should plan accordingly before arriving at the gate as all bags are required to be clear. All bags are also subject to search.

The security and entry procedures shown in the graphic accompanying this post remain in effect.

We appreciate our families, students, and community members for helping us maintain safe, efficient, and enjoyable athletic events. Please refer to information posted by Satsuma High School for official event procedures and admission policies. You may also contact the school office for questions related to policies and procedures.

Making History at Satsuma High School! 🐊

Mrs. Hoeft and Mrs. Jernigan are excited to collaborate over the coming months as our 10th-grade students prepare to participate in National History Day! This project-based learning experience will give students the opportunity to become historians themselves—researching meaningful topics, analyzing evidence, developing conclusions, and presenting their findings in unique self chosen platforms.

The experience will include an exciting first for our school: Satsuma High School’s inaugural History Day on campus this December!

To begin preparing for their projects, students visited Gator Grounds for a research lesson focused on the skills and resources they will need throughout the process. Students reviewed the differences between primary and secondary sources and explored credible research tools, including the Alabama Virtual Library and Library of Congres. They also learned how to locate and evaluate quality sources, properly cite research materials using available citation tools, and format an annotated bibliography.

This is more than a history assignment. Through project-based learning, students will strengthen skills in research, critical thinking, source evaluation, writing, communication, and information literacy—skills that extend far beyond the classroom.

We can’t wait to see history come to life when our students showcase their work at Satsuma History Day in December!

Our students had the opportunity to hear from representatives from the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board (ABC Board) and Mothers Against Drunk Driving yesterday.

They shared important information about the dangers and consequences of impaired and underage drinking, while encouraging our students to make responsible decisions and understand the impact their choices can have on themselves and others.

We are grateful to our guest speakers for taking the time to educate, engage, and help our students make safe, informed choices. Thank you for investing in the next generation!
