Satsuma City Schools is proud to announce that Superintendent Dana Walters Price has been named the School Superintendents of Alabama (SSA) District 1 Superintendent of the Year.

District 1 includes Baldwin, Butler, Conecuh, Covington, Crenshaw, Escambia, and Mobile counties and is represented by outstanding school systems and educational leaders who work every day to make a positive difference in the lives of students.

As the District 1 recipient, Mrs. Price will represent the region in the Alabama Superintendent of the Year selection process.

Mrs. Price shared:

“I am deeply honored and humbled to be selected as District 1 Superintendent of the Year. District 1 is blessed with exceptional superintendents and educational leaders, and I am grateful to serve alongside colleagues who are doing incredible work for students and communities across our region.

While my name may be associated with this recognition, I view it as a reflection of the collective efforts of the Satsuma City Schools family. This honor belongs to our students, teachers, support staff, administrators, Board of Education, families, and community partners who work together each day to make our schools successful.

I am grateful for the trust and support of our Board of Education and proud to serve a community that believes in our students and our future.”

🎭🎬 Calling all aspiring actors, dancers, singers, sound engineers, business owners, architects, designers, writers, and creative minds — this is the camp for YOU!

Blueprint to Broadway is so much more than a traditional theatre camp. The entertainment industry brings together audio, visual, construction, design, production, management, choreography, marketing, and storytelling to make productions come alive. This experience will give students a behind the scenes look at how all of those pieces converge into one unforgettable show.

Students will travel each day to spend the morning at one of Mobile’s most notable theatre organizations, the Joe Jefferson Playhouse, learning directly from professionals in the field including:

🎭 Costuming & Makeup – Martha Howard (Little Red Fox Cosplay)
💃 Choreography – Rebekah Howard & Michael Seward
🎬 Directing – Camden Jewell (CJ Media) & Michael Seward
📸 Videography/Photography – Camden Jewell & Emma Cheatham
💡 Lighting & Sound Design – Gavin Reeves & Justin Gipson

🛠️ Props & Scenic Design – Michael Seward

📷 Camp registration also includes professional style headshots for students as they learn about photography, media, and marketing within the entertainment industry.

We would like to thank the Gator Bn cadets for taking the time in giving tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice!

These cadets did an awesome job presenting colors and reading of the "13 folds" which represents each fold of the U. S. flag at City of Satsuma Annual Memorial Day Ceremony.
