June's Featured Artist at the Library: HELEN ZUHLKE

"I started painting about 15 years ago, when a self-taught artist, Judi Pearl Pulaski, moved to our area near Kendall and offered once-a-week classes in acrylics. Her classes were casual and fun and she was good at building confidence. Her mantra was 'We can fix that!' I try to challenge myself to paint new things in new ways, and I love acrylics for their color and ease. I've also gotten interested lately in stamp carving and printing."
