There will be no food distribution tonight, Wednesday, July 29.

Our next distribution will be a drive-thru distribution on Wednesday, August 5, 5:30-6:30pm.

HAVE YOU HEARD?!?!
We are excited to share some incredible news...
The Sauk Prairie Area Food Pantry has officially purchased a building!
Yes, purchased by securing a loan from a local bank.

This is a historic milestone for our organization and the communities we serve. After more than 43 years without a permanent home, we finally have one!

Our new facility will provide the space we need to:
-Store more food
-Better serve our patrons with dignity
-Welcome more volunteers AND have the space for them to work
-Expand programs and services
- Meet the growing needs of our community for years to come

While purchasing the building was a huge accomplishment, our work is far from over
We are now raising funds to help pay for the building, necessary renovations, equipment, and improvements that will transform this space into a warm, welcoming, and efficient food pantry. We have made tremendous progress toward our fundraising goal and remain hopeful that we will secure the full amount needed. Achieving that goal will allow our annual operating budget to remain focused on what matters most—acquiring and distributing nutritious food to families experiencing food insecurity—rather than servicing debt.

This isn't just a building—it's an investment in our neighbors and our community. Every dollar donated helps ensure that no one has to face hunger alone.

HUGE THANK YOU to Buttermilk Barn for donating the vegetable plants for the Sauk Prairie Area Food Pantry's very first vegetable garden! Also, thank you to the special people who donated tomato cages ANNNDD a honkin' BIG thank you to the crew that tilled, raked and planted the garden, THANK YOU ALL!!

We can't wait to see the fresh produce it will provide for our pantry families. Because of your generosity and support, we're confident our garden is off to a great start.

Thank you, Buttermilk Barn, the Tomato Cage families, and the Planting Crew for helping us "cultivate" something special for our community!

Shout Out to the Community Foundation of South Central Wisconsin!

Through the Three R's—Rescue, Reclaim, and Redistribute (RRR)—and with the support of a $1,000 grant from the Community Foundation of South Central Wisconsin, we were able to effectively rescue, reclaim, and redistribute more than 65,000 pounds of quality produce and other food items.

This funding helped us break down bulk donations into family-sized portions, allowing us to save more food from going to waste and put more nutritious food on the tables of families throughout our community.

Thank you, Community Foundation of South Central Wisconsin, for your continued support and commitment to helping us feed our neighbors and reduce food waste. Together, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.

Patrons, clients and visitors of the Sauk Prairie Area Food Pantry, YES. Yes, there will be a distribution tonight. We continue to monitor the weather. BUT, yes, as of this writing we will have distribution!

Of course, you should always do what is right for you and your family to be and feel safe.

Is anyone in need of acoustical ceiling tiles?

As we renovate the Sauk Prairie Area Food Pantry's new location, we are removing a number of ceiling tiles that are still able to be reused/repurposed. The larger tiles measure 2' x 2', and there are also various smaller cut-to-size pieces available.

If you are interested, please send us a DM, or an email [email protected], or call 608-571-7737.

Cost: Make a donation to the pantry!
You pick up and you haul.

Giving these materials a second life helps reduce waste and supports our efforts as we prepare our new pantry home.

Patrons of the Sauk Prairie Area Food Pantry,

Please be advised that, due to continued issues surrounding the patron “list,” we will no longer maintain a list determining the order in which patrons enter the pantry for distribution.

Instead, cards will be drawn at approximately 5:15 PM for evening or 9:15am for morning or when the Distribution Manager for that distribution is ready to begin.

The order of entry will be as follows:
• Spades – Ace through 10
• Diamonds – Ace through 10
• Clubs – Ace through 10
• Hearts – Ace through 10

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to make distributions as fair and efficient as possible.
