Detour Reminder: East Portage Ave → Ord St → East Spruce St → Shunk → 4 Mile → Riverside
Harvey Marina Access: East Portage Ave → Ord St → East Spruce St → Shunk → 3 Mile → Gardenville
Residents and local traffic: If you need to access Riverside Drive between Country Club Drive and 4 Mile Road, please expect congestion on Riverside between 3 Mile Road and St. Mary’s Cemetery while Team Elmer’s continues watermain work in the area.
Please use caution, follow posted traffic controls, and allow extra time. Construction zones are active workplaces, so please slow down and watch for crews and equipment.

🚧 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 🚧
Work continues to progress on Riverside Drive!
Current Progress:
• Pulverizing has been taking place from POB to the Mission Creek Bridge in preparation for paving anticipated in mid-September.
• Water main work is now fully complete through the 3 Mile Road intersection.
• All service connections from the Country Club Drive to near the 3 Mile Road/Riverside Drive intersection are complete.
Looking Ahead:
• Base course paving is anticipated for mid-September
• Watermain mainline work will continue from 3 Mile Road toward St. Mary’s Cemetery.
• Crews will continue working on the remaining service connections.
As construction continues, please use caution in and around the work zone, watch for crews and equipment, and follow all posted traffic restrictions.

As part of the project, Bingham Avenue will be closed tomorrow from Hursley Street to Lyon Street. Please plan to use an alternate route and use caution around the construction area. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we work to make these important improvements to the City’s infrastructure!

👀You may have noticed some construction activity along the Power Canal recently! 👀

This work is part of the City’s Power Canal Sanitary Sewer Project, being completed through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) program administered by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy (EGLE). The project includes rehabilitation and replacement of sanitary sewer along the Power Canal. Phase 1 is currently underway and includes installation of new sewer pipe, along with rehabilitation of portions of the existing sewer using pipe lining. These improvements will help address aging infrastructure and improve the long-term reliability of the City’s sanitary sewer system.
