Wildfire Smoke and Air Quality Advisory
Residents may notice increased smoke, haze, and ash in our area due to ongoing wildfire activity. Smoke conditions can change quickly based on wind direction and weather patterns, and air quality may be affected even when fires are located a significant distance away.
The health impacts of wildfire smoke can vary from person to person. Children, older adults, and individuals with heart or lung conditions may be more sensitive to smoke exposure.
Residents are encouraged to take the following precautions:
• Monitor local air quality conditions before spending extended time outdoors.
• Limit strenuous outdoor activities when smoke levels are elevated.
• Keep windows and doors closed when air quality is poor.
• Run air conditioning systems on the recirculate setting when possible.
• Consider using a properly fitted N95 mask if you must spend extended time outdoors during periods of poor air quality.
• Avoid activities that add smoke or particles to the air, such as outdoor burning,
Please check on family members, neighbors, and community members who may be more affected by smoke conditions.
