Join us this Wednesday, August 26 as we welcome Christine Madrid French to our free webinar series, My Path to Preservation.

Christine has worked as an historian for the National Park Service in Washington, D.C., the California Preservation Foundation, San Francisco Heritage, and directed the Modern + Recent Past Program at the National Trust for Historic Preservation in San Francisco. She is currently the executive director at Napa County Landmarks.

Over her career, she has raised more than $2.5 million for non-profit causes in art and architecture. Her book “The Architecture of Suspense: The Built World in the Films of Alfred Hitchcock,” focusing on the real-world histories of cinematic structures, was released by the University of Virginia Press.

This one-hour, free lunchtime program will include a 10-15 minute presentation by our guest speaker, followed by Q&A with questions from our audience and CPF's Education Committee Co-Chairs.

From early explorers to roaring waterfront saloons, through the Prohibition era to the historic bars of the past and present, this talk brings to life the colorful characters, capers and cocktail bars that shaped Sausalito’s social scene.

The Sausalito Players mounted two beautiful performances last night at the SWC clubhouse, “Something Unspoken,” a one-act play by Tennessee Williams and William Luce’s “Excerpts from The Belle of Amherst”. Kudos to veteran actresses Kat Shepherd and Julie Dimas, and to producer and director Jean Spaulding and her crew. ♥️🎭
