Shawn Henderson for White County Commissioner It's time for a change! Vote for me in District 4! I grew up in White County, and I want to work for all of the citizens, not just some! Thank you! patrol cars

I believe that one should see his or her county commissioner more than just when the commissioner is running for reelection. I want to change this. When elected, I will keep White County notified of upcoming county actions through social media, as well as hosting town hall, face-to-face meetings on a regular basis. I will listen to your ideas. Some of the issues I feel strongly about are:
1- keepi

ng taxes low
2- spend taxpayer money only after seeking public input
3- term limits for elected county officials
4- I believe some positions should be appointed, not elected if permissible by state law
5- I would like to increase the homestead and conservation exemptions, so it will lower people's taxes if they keep White County beautiful
6- work with law enforcement to end drug abuse; I don't believe it's just a law enforcement problem
7- I will not take campaign donations or cater to certain special interest groups
8- I will listen to anyone's ideas, because I don't believe that I know everything
9- I will fight for benefits for senior citizens and veterans
10- I will put local pressure on Windstream to improve their service
11- I will protect and promote White County's small businesses
12- I will also promote agritourism and support our local farmers
13- I will ensure that White County has well-maintained roads
14- Work to support White County's School System, so it will continue to be one of the best in the State of Georgia
15- I will also support home and private schools
16- I am a strong advocate for the library system; need funding for important programs
17- Ensure our children have safe places to play and have the sports fields they need
18- protect historic sites
`9- add ball fields, so our children don't have to go to other counties to play sports
20- Creating a full time fire department in the county; giving a tax break and increase per call pay to encourage volunteer firefighter participation
21- I would like to see Helen add more family-friendly attractions to attract more tourists.
22- I will NEVER vote myself a pay raise!
23- I will look into new ways to deal with the trash that is thrown out on our roads.
24- Need a plan to make the Yonah Preserve like Laurel Park in Hall County. This will benefit the young and old at heart!
25- Work towards replacing older Sheriff Dept.

I just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't forgotten about anyone. I have taken a military tour in the D.C. area for 1-2 years. I still appreciate all of you in White County!

I want to thank everyone who put a sign in their yard, told someone about me, followed me on social media, and most of all, voted for me! We didn't win this time, but we ran a clean, positive race.
