The 8th-grade science classes recently had the opportunity to go to Maquoketa Caves State Park. We had a beautiful day learning about the geologic history of the caves. The students really had fun exploring them! In addition, the students had the opportunity to conduct a stream study. During this study, we learned how to test the water for oxygen level and nitrates. Once we determined those levels, we were able to hunt for invertebrates to determine how healthy the water system is. Having a variety of invertebrates can help determine how healthy the water system is. Thank you to the Park Rangers for being our amazing guides, the district for allowing us to go on such amazing field trips, and the chaperones for helping out for the day!

Wow!! Our WCEMS family really showed up for the Money Wars last week.
Thank you to everyone that sent in money for our Money Wars! We collected a total of $3110.71 for our friend Bennett. Thank you to Mannys, Sullivan's foods and Polar Express for donating gift cards as well. Thunder Pride!
