Van Johnson's answer to gun violence in Savannah. Way to go Van. Another great decision of inclusive leadership. 👏

A former support and outreach coordinator for the City of Savannah’s anti-gun violence initiative and Chair of the housing committee and former co-chair of Mayor Van Johnson’s re-entry task force was recently arrested for a Nov. 30 murder in Port Wentworth. In the afternoon of Nov. 30, Port Went...

Well it's all over but the counting. Thank you to all that supported me. We will see how it shakes out. We need big changes. The Van Johnson Administration has been anything but ethical. We need a change.

Facts: As an Alderman, I did more for my District than any Alderman serving now or in the Past 30 years. Ardsley Park has been screaming about flooding for 30 years. In my second year, I ended structural flooding in my neighborhoods. They can talk, throw rocks and insults, but I made sh*t happen and continued to do it for 20 years. If I could do that for District 6, imagine what I could do for the city. I need you and your vote tomorrow. Give me that and I will give you 100% dedication to making Savannah better.

Predictions:

Not how I would like it but here is what I feel will be the outcome. Mayor: Van Johnson; Alderman at Large, Post 1: Runoff between 2 of these 3 - Roshida Edwards, myself, and/or Carol Bell; Alderman at Large Post 2: Alicia Blakely; 1st District - unopposed; 2nd District - Legget; 3rd District - Wilder-Bryan; 4th District- Palumbo; 5th District - Shabazz; 6th District - Runoff. Unfortunately, there are some really good candidates out there but 'The Good Ole Boys' - about 80 mostly white businessmen, who don't live in the city limits of Savannah and who gave, invested, and slopped over $1 Million into these elections - have bought their 'slaves' for the next 4 years. I hope I'm wrong but I'm usually not. This auction of incumbents should be known as 'Sold.Bought.And delivered - How Dirty Money Enslaved a Whole City. Sounds like a book I should write. As they have said in the past - "We got our 5." Unless we turn out tomorrow, there you have it. Starting Wednesday - 'The Corruption Chronicles'.

Did you know that the City of Savannah long-termed leased CONTAMINATED land from a local Savannah family for the arena years before the arena was built. YES, this city paid -and still does- thousands of dollars every day to this local Savannah family for a contaminated parking lot and will for no end in the future. WHAT A DEAL FOR TAXPAYERS! Did you know that Carol Bell and Van Johnson both voted for this? Tony Thomas voted against it and I did not take any money from this family ever. I bet my opponents including the Mayor can't say that. ELECT TONY THOMAS for Alderman at Large so that these dirty deals don't keep up.

Experience Matters. When you cast your vote on Tuesday, you will see 7 names on the ballot for Alderman at Large, Post 1. 5 of the 7 have never held public office. Each possess passion and a great love for Savannah and I have truly enjoyed getting to know them and hearing their stories and ideas for a better Savannah. I do hope that they will remain committed to working for a better Savannah in the years ahead if they are not successful this time around. 2 of the 7 have held public office in Savannah before. That would be myself and Carol Bell. Having served the city for 5 terms - 12 years as your Chairman of Council, I have the experience of having worked on issues across this city with 5 different Mayors in every quadrant of this city. In all those years, the highs and lows, I never sold your vote, took money and gifts, advocated for a family members contract, or turned a deaf ear to your wishes and needs. Noone owned me and I never gave away your voice and vote to a campaign donor. I am proud of the many successes and accomplishments over those two decades and I am proud when I say - "There for you THEN. Here for you NOW. And I will ALWAYS be AVAILABLE to you when the need arises." I sincerely ask for your support and vote on Tuesday, November 7th and I pledge to you that I will do everything in my power to improve this city in the 4 years ahead.

Why would 80 individuals put $1,000,000 into city elections - most in the campaigns of 3 candidates?

Fiscal responsibility is an a must for city council. Unfornately, while you were distracted with Covid, Inflation, and Recovery from the hardest times in modern history, this city council was raising their own salaries; giving 25% raises to cronies; soaking taxpayers with travel junkets; not minding contracts that spiraled out of control costing precious dollars; and wasting your money on every whim that came their way. YOU DESERVE HONESTY, TRANSPARENCY, AND RESPECT. Elect me and I will fight this excess and waste and save those monies for the things YOU need -Not for political entertaining.
