Last week I officially qualified to seek reelection as Judge of the Chatham County Recorder’s Court.

I gave serious thought to whether I wanted to run again. The last four years have brought a great deal of change in my life, and like any important decision, this one required reflection and honest conversations with people whose judgment I trust.

Three constants in my life during that time have been my children, the support of family and friends, and the responsibility of public service. Each has shaped me in different ways and reminded me how important it is to approach responsibility with humility and gratitude.

I chose to run again because I believe this work matters. Every day in court involves real people, real consequences, and real responsibility. Opportunities to serve in this way do not come often, and despite the demands of the work, I have never felt more grounded in the purpose of what I do.

There is still more to do to improve access, efficiency, and public understanding of how Recorder’s Court serves the community.

Serving on the bench has been one of the most demanding responsibilities I have ever carried, but also one of the most meaningful. I remain grateful for the trust placed in me, and if given the opportunity to continue serving, I will do so with independence, fairness, dignity, and a continued commitment to equal justice under the law.

Thank you for your support and trust.

The General Primary Election will be held on May 19, 2026.

Please make sure you are registered to vote and take time to learn about the candidates and offices on the ballot before election day.

“Our leaders must be people who are not in love with money, but in love with justice; not in love with publicity, but in love with humanity.”

— Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Positions and job titles don’t define a person. It’s the character, integrity, and intent of the individual that define what it truly means to serve the public.

Today, I encourage all entrusted to serve to honor Dr. King’s legacy by recommitting to service rooted in justice, humility, and humanity.

Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

84 years ago, the People of these United States were forced to confront a grave evil, and in doing so, to stand firmly against it. The attack on Pearl Harbor claimed more than 2,400 American lives and thrust our nation into a global struggle that demanded courage, sacrifice, and unwavering resolve.

We must never forget what it took to confront that darkness, and the generations who rose to meet it. Their bravery reshaped the world and continues to define the American spirit. 🇺🇸

Remember them with pride. Live a life worthy of their sacrifice.

24 years ago today, our world changed forever. Even now, we remember exactly where we were, and what we were doing. The memory remains visceral and surreal.

Today, we pause to honor the nearly 3,000 souls lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the families whose lives were shattered but whose strength endures.

Let the light breaking through in this photo remind us that even in our darkest moments, hope and resilience still shine through.

We will always remember.
We will never forget.
We will always remain one nation.

United in grief.
United in strength.
United in hope. 🇺🇸
