Last week I officially qualified to seek reelection as Judge of the Chatham County Recorder’s Court.
I gave serious thought to whether I wanted to run again. The last four years have brought a great deal of change in my life, and like any important decision, this one required reflection and honest conversations with people whose judgment I trust.
Three constants in my life during that time have been my children, the support of family and friends, and the responsibility of public service. Each has shaped me in different ways and reminded me how important it is to approach responsibility with humility and gratitude.
I chose to run again because I believe this work matters. Every day in court involves real people, real consequences, and real responsibility. Opportunities to serve in this way do not come often, and despite the demands of the work, I have never felt more grounded in the purpose of what I do.
There is still more to do to improve access, efficiency, and public understanding of how Recorder’s Court serves the community.
Serving on the bench has been one of the most demanding responsibilities I have ever carried, but also one of the most meaningful. I remain grateful for the trust placed in me, and if given the opportunity to continue serving, I will do so with independence, fairness, dignity, and a continued commitment to equal justice under the law.
Thank you for your support and trust.
The General Primary Election will be held on May 19, 2026.
