The Atom Smasher Family lined the 500 Wing this morning to bid farewell to Ms. Bivins! She is returning to her hometown and we will greatly miss her and all of the love and dedication that she showed us. From freshman English, to Miss SCJ, the Atom Yearbook, and MCing events with her unique and engaging style, her impact was felt in every part of the school! Congratulations to our 2026 Athletes of the Year, Ms. Deshay Miles and Mr. Quentin James, and our Coach of the Year, Dr Caledon Smith!
Today we recognized and celebrated our many athletics programs at the annual SCJ Athletics Banquet. Students and coaches were recognized for their dedication to making the Atom Smashers a force to be reckoned with across all of our programs, while striving for academic excellence as well. Most of all, our coaches and administrators give thanks to our parents, community members, custodial staff, and school support officers for their tireless support in helping these young people shine.

In just a few days we'll be saying goodbye to the Class of 2026, and then we'll be setting the stage for the Class of 2027! We're wrapping up a year of "Excellence in Action," Next Week @ SCJ (5/18-5/22).

Your bags have worked hard all year, carrying around your devices and assignments. It is time to give them an early summer break!
Starting Monday, May 18, any bags that are brought in must be left in the front office.

Saturday Academy offers targeted support through tutoring, remediation, review, and attendance recovery sessions. The final Saturday Academy will take place Saturday May 16th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Attendance is required for any student submitting an attendance waiver. Please note that students must arrive by 9:00 a.m. — tardy students will not be admitted. We encourage students to take advantage of this opportunity to stay on track and finish the semester strong.

Attention Students: If you have 10 or more unexcused or unverified absences after May 8, you must submit excuses or have a waiver on file. If you already have an approved waiver, any additional absences must still be excused, or your waiver may be denied.
Remember, missing school during the last few week can increase your non-counted absences and impact your final grade status. Students can accumulate additional No Credit (NC) absences if they continue to miss school.
Savannah-Chatham County Public Schools allows up to 5 Asynchronous Remote Learning days. If you used ARL, be sure to submit your Brightspace documentation by May 21.
