Kiwanis Club of Skidaway 🇺🇸Bringing Hope to At Risk Children🇺🇸 Kiwanis Club of Skidaway is dedicated to helping the disadvantaged and at-risk children of the greater Savannah community.

Since our Club was established in 1988, our members have volunteered over 300,000 service hours and raised and distributed over $1.3 million to agencies that provide services to these children and their families.

Thank You, Michael Owen!

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to Michael Owen, President & CEO of the Savannah Tourism Leadership Council (TLC), for joining us at our meeting this week.

We appreciate Michael taking the time to share his perspective and insights with our members and to give us an opportunity to learn more about the work of the Tourism Leadership Council and its role in Savannah’s tourism and hospitality community.

This coming Thursday, we’re pleased to welcome Back Michael Owens, President and CEO of the Savannah Tourism Leadership Council (TLC), as our guest speaker.

Michael has spent his career in the hospitality industry and has called Savannah home for more than 20 years. Since becoming President and CEO of the TLC in 2012, he has helped lead an organization dedicated to representing and advocating for the businesses and professionals that make up Savannah’s tourism and hospitality community.

His presentation will focus on the mission of the Tourism Leadership Council and its role in supporting the tourism and hospitality industry throughout coastal Georgia.

Michael is also deeply involved in our broader community. Along with his professional leadership, he and his wife, Amanda, are founders of Grace Autism Services, which provides therapy services to children on the autism spectrum throughout Georgia.

We look forward to welcoming Michael and learning more about the important work being done to support Savannah’s tourism and hospitality community.

A big thank you to Dr. Robyn Odzark for joining the Kiwanis Club of Skidaway this past Thursday and sharing her time and expertise with our members.

Dr. Odzark, a primary care physician with Ochsner Novant Health 65 Plus, spoke with us about “The Future of Primary Care for Seniors,” an especially relevant topic for many in our community.

We’re grateful to Dr. Odzark for being our guest and for taking the time to connect with the Kiwanis Club of Skidaway.

The Kiwanis Club of Skidaway Island is pleased to welcome back Joe Marinelli, President and CEO of Visit Savannah, for his annual update on Savannah’s hospitality and tourism industry.

Joe brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in tourism and hospitality and has led Visit Savannah since 2007. In his role, he works with community leaders and hospitality partners to promote Savannah and the surrounding region as a premier destination for leisure travelers, conventions, meetings, sporting events, and more.

This Thursday, Joe will share his perspective on Savannah’s Hospitality Industry and the continued growth and importance of tourism to our region.

🌟 Kiwanis Leadership at the Georgia Kiwanis Convention

We’re proud to see the leadership of the Kiwanis Club of Skidaway Island represented at the Georgia Kiwanis Convention in Peachtree City, Georgia!

Conventions like this provide a wonderful opportunity for Kiwanis leaders from across Georgia to come together, share ideas, strengthen connections, and continue working toward our shared commitment to service.

The Kiwanis Club of Skidaway Island extends our sincere thanks to Steve Dantzler of the American Red Cross, Kate Ash of the Alzheimer’s Association, and Alexis Williams, MPH, of the Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter for joining us at our meeting this week.

We appreciate them taking the time to share their knowledge and provide our members with an opportunity to learn more about the important work being done by these organizations throughout our community and across Georgia.

The Kiwanis Club of Skidaway Island is pleased to welcome three special guests this Thursday for a presentation featuring updates from the American Red Cross and the Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter.

Joining us will be:

🔹 Steve Dantzler, Volunteer Services Specialist in Georgia with the American Red Cross

🔹 Kate Ash, Fundraising and Events Manager with the Alzheimer’s Association

🔹 Alexis Williams, MPH, Program Manager with the Alzheimer’s Association Georgia Chapter

Our speakers will share updates from their respective organizations and discuss the important work they are doing to serve individuals, families, volunteers, and communities across Georgia.

From volunteer engagement and community partnerships to Alzheimer's awareness, education, outreach, and support, these organizations play an important role in strengthening the communities they serve.

The Kiwanis Club of Skidaway Island extends our sincere thanks to Eric Dudasko, Executive Director of The Marshes of Skidaway Island, for joining us as our guest speaker this week.

Eric shared insights into The Marshes of Skidaway Island, a senior living community dedicated to providing exceptional care and enriching the lives of older adults in our community. With more than three decades of experience serving seniors and a distinguished career in senior living leadership, Eric brought a wealth of knowledge and perspective to our meeting.

We are grateful for his time and willingness to share about the mission of The Marshes and the important role it plays in serving residents here in the Savannah area.
