We will be forever grateful for the courage and dedication of these individuals, and every other member of our armed forces who bravely put themselves in harms way daily to protect this country! 🇺🇸

SAYR Communications Director Carri Johnson spoke to Fox 28 this past week about the recent SCOTUS decision on President Biden’s student loan forgiveness plan.

Carri is a bankruptcy attorney in Savannah, and has a unique perspective on the burden student loans play in the lives of everyday Americans.

As she says in the interview, being a bankruptcy attorney gives her the opportunity to see firsthand the detrimental impact student loans can play in one’s life. However, none of that compares to the impact the President’s plan would have on so many Americans and the economy, given the astronomical price tag that came along with the plan.

Student loans are a problem, but this was not the resolution. It’s a bigger, systemic issue, and until we hold the schools, and the Department of Education accountable it is not fair to make hardworking Americans pick up the tab.

This is to say nothing of the fact that the President’s plan completely side-stepped the elected members of Congress who are constitutionally tasked with America’s budgetary issues… but that’s an issue for another day.

Overall a huge win for fiscal conservatives and the rule of law with this ruling... way to go SCOTUS! 👏👏👏

Despite the bigotry surfacing within the party, the Savannah Area Young Republicans want to make it clear that the hate being circulated at the state and national level does not represent the vast majority of conservatives, and it does not change the fact that our core principles and beliefs as Republicans will forever lie in individual freedom for everyone.
