I was deeply honored to be recognized alongside nine remarkable women whose dedication and service continue to make a lasting impact on our community.

As a Superior Court Judge, I have the privilege of serving the people of Chatham County each day. While awards are never the goal, it is meaningful to have that service acknowledged by others.

Congratulations to my fellow honorees. Your leadership, compassion, and commitment inspire me, and I was proud to celebrate with each of you.

Thank you to the organizers for creating such a special event and for recognizing women who lead by serving. I am grateful to do work that matters and remain committed to leading with integrity, fairness, and purpose.

Here's to continuing to lift one another up and making a positive difference in our community.

One of the unexpected highlights of my trip with a girlfriend was reconnecting with a woman I have admired for many years, Lois Mastellor.

When I returned home to Savannah, she became an informal mentor to me, though she may not have realized it at the time. She was already an accomplished businesswoman, deeply involved in our civic and community organizations, and I admired the way she carried herself. Some of the wisdom she shared still echoes in my mind today.

It meant a great deal to finally tell her just how much of an impact she had on my life and career. Too often, we never let people know the difference they have made. Don't wait.

The evening ended at The Jazz Corner, the wonderful venue her late husband founded in 1999. It had been years since my last visit, and returning made the evening even more special. Some places hold great music. Others hold meaningful memories. That evening, it held both.

Administering the oath to new attorneys, or attorneys embarking on new positions, is always meaningful to me.

An oath is more than words. It is a commitment to uphold the Constitution, honor the law, and serve with integrity. It should guide every decision long after the ceremony ends.

Our justice system depends not just on laws, but on the character of those who uphold them.

Congratulations to our newest attorneys. May you carry your oath with humility, courage, and integrity.

There are no coincidences, only divine alignment.

Judges Colbert, Harmon, Karpf, and I all coincidentally converged in front of our county courthouse. Grateful to share a moment with these incredible leaders who show up for our community every single day.

Honored to have been a guest of Anthony Phillips and my cousin and soror, Dr. Donna Bowers Phillips, as she hosted an unforgettable evening. The elegance in that room, shared with my sorors, was unmatched, and the band Soul Sessions? An absolute highlight! I also left with a powerful piece of history: the late Sol C. Johnson and the late Sidney A. Jones were among the founding members of Savannah State University's chapter of Omega Psi Phi.

Attended the 2026 Juneteenth Dreams Fulfilled Scholarship Gala and loved reconnecting with familiar faces while meeting new ones. The best part of the evening was celebrating my friend Lillian Grant‑Baptiste as one of the honorees. Grateful to be part of a night that honors history and community.

Happy Monday!

Every Monday is a choice. A choice to rise before the noise starts. A choice to silence the voice that says "not yet." A choice to show up, not when conditions are perfect, but because you decided that today is the day.

Excuses are comfortable. They're familiar. They hold you back quietly, convincingly, one postponed decision at a time.

But here's what I know to be true: strength isn't the absence of doubt. It's the decision to move anyway.

The most successful people didn't wait until they were no longer fearful. They learned to act anyway. They built the habit of embracing discomfort and over time, that habit became their identity.

So today, I challenge you to think about your excuses. Not to judge them, but to understand them. Because on the other side of every excuse is a sharper, more resilient, and more capable version of yourself than you believed possible.

Be stronger than your excuses. Not just today, but everyday.

The 5th Women in Business Conference was absolutely amazing! Hearing the different stories and perspectives reminded me why we show up, keep pushing, and lift each other along the way. To every woman in that room, thank you for your transparency and your strength. We are truly better together!
