Hardin County Fire Department- District 8

Hardin County Fire Department- District 8 HCFD District 8 serves the communities of Burnt Church ,Old Town, Big Ivy, Rogers Creek , Germany Branch ,and Gillis Mills in Hardin County Tennessee.

We have Station 1 in Burnt Church and Station 2 at Rogers Dr and Hwy 203. District 8 covers the area of Burnt Church all of Hwy 203 from the English Creek Bridge to the Wayne County line including all of the Big Ivy and Gillis Mills areas. We cover Old Town Loop and part of Hwy 64 . We join Districts 5, 6, 9,10,11 in call areas, which is the other parts of Hwy 64, Old Town Loop, Hwy 203, County Home Rd, Olivet, Hwy 226, Olive Hill, Harbert Hills and Walnut Grove area.

Fire crews have responded to multiple calls this week due to unattended burns. With dry conditions and wind gusts reaching 15-20+ mph, fire risk is ELEVATED through Sunday, March 29th.

🚫 NO CARELESS OUTDOOR BURNING 🚫
Outdoor burning is NOT allowed without a permit. Before you light any fire, follow these safety steps:
βœ… Get a Permit: It’s the law. Visit BurnSafeTN.org or call 1-877-350-BURN (2876).
βœ… Watch the Wind: Gusts can quickly carry embers to dry grass or forest.
βœ… Stay Present: Never leave a fire unattended for any reason.
βœ… Be Prepared: Have water and tools on hand to extinguish the fire immediately.
