Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace Museum

Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace Museum Birthplace of the Girl Scout's founder and Savannah's first National Historic Landmark. Guided tours and special programs are available throughout the year.

The Juliette Gordon Low Birthplace is a designated National Historic Landmark, and hosts Girl Scouts troops from all over the United States. In 1860, Juliette Gordon Low was born in this home and it was from here that she made the phone call founding the Girl Scouts in Savannah on March 12, 1912. Juliette Gordon Low’s contributions to girl’s lives and to American culture have made her Birthplace a

touchstone for Girl Scouts and alumnae. Girl Scouts of the USA purchased the site in 1953 and have been responsible stewards of the site keeping the nearly 200 year old home in excellent condition. The home is one of the few historic houses in Savannah with an elevator to serve guests.

Juliette’s mother modeled charity and hard work, while instilling the values in her that would inspire future Girl Scouts.

Thank you for all you’ve done to raise future go-getters, innovators, risk-takers, and leaders.

Celebrities paid thousands of dollars to model their clothes. Juliette Gordon Low designed these on recycled paper.

Juliette Gordon Low and her cousins handmade these paper dolls in the 1880s, modeled after famous actresses Kate Claxton and Page Ailett. These incredibly detailed dresses show off her creative talent.

All these dolls are preserved in the GSUSA Collection & Archive.

Crafted from a millstone discovered in the garden when Girl Scouts purchased the home in the 1950s, we’ve transformed this piece of history into a piece of art. Matt’s metal details bring it to life.

During this intimate gathering, Matt will share insights into his artistic process, and Shannon will share a bit about the years of work that brought this unique piece to the garden. Enjoy a champagne toast and a delightful evening in our garden.
