Greenbriar operates three quality rated, AFFORDABLE early learning and care programs for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years of age, in addition to a FREE Georgia Pre-K program and a FREE summer transition program for up and coming kindergarteners. CAPS is accepted and scholarships are provided for those who need assistance. We also provide a Two-Gen approach for children and families by providing FREE counseling and support services for families in crisis. We also operate one of only two emergency shelters in the entire Coastal Empire for children who are abused, neglected or abandoned. Yesterday morning we were excited to be with Healthy Savannah to present an update on the construction of our new early learning center on our campus on Hopkins Street. We were thrilled to answer questions from the audience about our planned opening in early 2027. Like us, it sounds like many of you can't wait! We all know that drawing and painting help children to learn and we also know that art supplies are getting more expensive. Our friends Starlandia Art Supply have found a creative (of course) way to help local nonprofits! When you bring in your art materials to trade, you can give your resulting store credit to a participating non profit organization. Greenbriar is proud to be one of the inaugural community credit partners! We will be able to use these credits to fund creativity in our new early learning center, opening early in 2027. Yes, summer is officially over. But we do not have to say goodbye to the outdoors just yet. It’s still warm enough to bring your toddler to the beach to feel the cooler sand and the still warm water. Young children are curious…they learn by exploring their environment. So go play outside and learn together!

Harvard University says that the science of early brain development can inform investments in early childhood education. We say science should GOVERN and encourage investment in our earliest learners. Period. The evidence is clear that we need to do more to encourage parents, teachers and our community to read to our babies, talk to our babies and sing with our babies.
