The role of the Chatham County Board of Elections is to conduct primary and general elections in accordance with Georgia law. While the majority of county boards have appointed members, Chatham is one of the few counties in the State of Georgia in which board members are elected. After having been appointed in March 2021 to complete my predecessor's term, I am running for a full term as one of the
two Republican members. To learn more about the board, please visit http://elections.chathamcounty.org/
My campaign slogan is "Grow, Develop, and Professionalize" If elected to a full term, my decisions will continue to be guided by the following three priorities:
1) Grow: According the the 2020 Census, Chatham County saw a population increase of 11% in the last decade. As we manage our elections system, it is imperative that we see Chatham County in it's present form, and let go of how we saw it in the past.
2) Develop: Over the past year, I have voted to create new precincts. I have also assisted staff in securing new polling locations that are more conducive to the needs of the surrounding voting communities. As we strive to meet the needs of the fastest growing communities within Chatham County, I believe that public confidence will follow.
3) Professionalism. I am proud to have voted to name Billy Wooten as the Permanent Elections Supervisor for Chatham County. In his prior roles with the Chatham County Board of Elections, he always sought out the most ethical and legal ways to conduct business. When he became the interim supervisor, he looked for ways to make the elections office operate more efficiently. As Permanent Election Supervisor, I am confident that Mr. Wooten will further professionalize the Chatham County Board of Elections. If want me to keep moving our board in the right directions, then I hope to have your vote and support. In order to vote for me, you must meet the following three requirements:
1. Live in Chatham County, Georgia.
2. Be registered to vote in Chatham County, Georgia.
3. When you get to your polling place, pick up a Republican ballot. Georgia is an "open primary" state. That means that, regardless of your political leanings, you are not a "registered Republican," "registered Democrat," or "registered Independent." Consequently, you may select a partisan ballot. My race will be towards the end. Regardless of whether or not you can vote for me, there are ways that you can support me. Please check out my linked website for further details!
