Public Information (Savoy area) 04/07/2026 the Platinum Engie BESS is conducting routine fire alarm calibration, so from time to time throughout the day there maybe an audible alarm heard from that area. Local fire and emergency services personnel are aware of the calibration test today.

03/17/2026 6:08 am another cold morning and day of wind and low humidity. This will be another No Burn Day, winds are forecasted to be above 23 mph and humidity down to 20%. The “green up” is getting better, however we still have areas that still have dead dry vegetation.

Sunday will be a no burning day for Fannin County please be aware!

Strong north winds of 25 to 35 MPH, along with gusts to 50+ mph, are expected Sunday afternoon and evening behind the next cold front. An elevated to critical wildfire threat will also develop both ahead of and behind the front. Unseasonably cold weather will follow Sunday night, with low temperatures in the 30s along with wind chills in the 20s.
