PSA: Saxapahaw Trails are growing and winding their way towards the new (not yet open) 800 acre park being designed on Austin Quarter Road - these are the early stages so for now the riverside trail is being extended with the help of the amazing volunteers from the Friends of the Mountains to Sea Trail!! These trail agreements, took a lot of time, diplomacy, generosity, & kindness from many people and organizations and part of keeping everything working smoothly is respecting the private land around the trails - please stick to the trails themselves when you are exploring - and there is so much to explore ! And get out there ! It helps the trails a lot when steady walkers keep the paths clear and the weeds down just by using the trails! Thanks to everyone involved in getting these wonderful trails open for everyone! A great way to explore the trails is via ! Check them out! Also ->

Saxapahaw is the current cover story of the .henrymag Magazine! With this great title ❤️ “Unsinkable Saxapahaw: And the spirit that rose above stormwater.”

It’s a lovely piece that really speaks to all of you - the amazing people and businesses, volunteers and organizers who helped come together when Saxapahaw was hit so hard by the flood last summer. The generosity of people was something none of us will ever forget!

ALSO - we have been planning a gathering celebration to mark the one year anniversary in the form of a dance party at Haw River Ballroom July 10 and we’ve been searching for a name. Thanks to you Danielle, it’s going to be called “Unsinkable Saxapahaw” dance party and community gathering! All are welcome! Free and open to all starting at 8pm July 10th .

Thanks to the amazing folks at and and kind neighbors, homeowners and donors, and Alamance County Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail Task Force volunteers who have contributed many hours of time and hard work to build and maintain the trails!

Saxapahaw is surrounded by miles of trails to explore! Riverside hikes, Saxapahaw Island and more and it’s growing with the new 800 acre park that will be walkable from central Saxapahaw! Come explore and get outside in nature!
