FLOODED ROADS — PLEASE AVOID

Several area roads are currently flooded and inaccessible. Please turn around and do not attempt to drive through flooded roads.

Water levels can change quickly, and what may look passable can be extremely dangerous.

McLean County EMA, along with several partnering agencies and multiple first responder departments, will be working together on a Full-Scale Hazardous Materials/Multiple Vehicle Accident scenario on the evening of Wednesday, August 5th.

We need volunteers to act as patients. While there will be no actual hazardous chemical, the full response will require decontamination so participants will get wet, some will be transported (by bus) to an area hospital so they can test their systems.

ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 18 YRS OR OLDER AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO SIGN A WAIVER.

We want to send out a high thank you to all the people that made the first annual Ryan Jamison Memorial Golf Outing a huge success. The sponsors, the donors, the golfers and the crew that volunteered to keep things flowing. Also a big thank you to Cooksville Fire and Mark & Nikki Studholme for their donations towards the catering.

Come join us at the Saybrook Stars and Stripes for the pedal tractor pull this Sunday! Sign up starts at 1:30, after the parade. Same location as last year on Lincoln Street by the pavilion. Entry is free for the kids, $5 for the adults!

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Paramedic Les Donnelly after a battle with cancer. Les served in our community and surrounding areas for decades. His dedication, service to our community and his friendship will be deeply missed.

Rest easy brother, well take it from here.
