Join us for the annual Love Like Colter Memorial Blood Drive on Friday, April 10 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the new Elk City Fire Department (403 W 5th).

This event is more than just a blood drive. It’s a chance for our community to come together, give back, and honor the memory of someone who truly showed up for others.

This will also be the first public event held in our new fire station, and we invite you to come take a look around.
TTS will be providing a meal for attendees (donation only).

Whether you donate, stop by to support, or just come see the new station, we would love to have you.

A fire hydrant has been struck at 2nd and Locust. City crews are working to repair it but water service on 2nd from Kready to Poplar streets has been shut down until they are completed.

A timeline for that occurring will be published as soon as it can be determined.

Please share this post and do not call City Hall or the Police Department, they are aware of the situation and can only give you the same information. Thank you.

Join us for our annual “Love Like Colter Memorial Blood Drive” on April 10th from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

This event is more than just a blood drive. It is a chance for our community to come together, give back, and honor the memory of someone who truly embodied what it means to show up for others.

We are committed to continuing to grow this event each year, and we need your help to make it bigger than ever. Whether you donate blood, stop by to support, or simply help spread the word, every effort makes a difference.

Let’s come together as a community and continue to love like Colter.

Today had the potential to be every fire chiefs worst nightmare, but thanks to the quick response of an outstanding volunteer fire department and the outpouring of support from neighboring departments and resources, I can go to sleep tonight with a huge sense of relief knowing we dodged a bullet.

Carl Billey said it best:

A HUGE thank you goes out to the Erick, Texola, Sweetwater, Berlin, Cheyenne, Elk City, Canute, Carter, and Delhi departments, as well as the Beckham County graders. They were instrumental in getting that thing under control.

Be sure to give them a thank you and a pat on the back. These volunteer departments took time out of their Sunday to help save the day, and Elk City still sent help even with their plate full at home. 🚒🧑🏻‍🚒

I also want to add a special thank you to the men I have the honor of serving alongside on the Sayre Fire Department, to Carl Billey for his work with Sayre Emergency Management, Sayre City Manager Ted Lawson and to Commissioner Carl Don Campbell.
