The members of the Sayre Fire Department extend our deepest condolences to the family of former Station 57 Fire Chief Frank Yonkin and his wife, Bonnie, following the tragic motor vehicle accident on February 24th in Albany Township.

This loss is felt especially close to home, as Frankโ€™s brother, Tom Yonkin, is a Past Chief of the Sayre Fire Department, and his brother, John Yonkin, currently serves as Chief of Station 57. The fire service is a family, and today that bond is deeply felt across our departments.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Yonkin family, the members of Dushore Fire-Rescue, and all responding agencies during this incredibly difficult time.

We stand with you.

The generosity of our community continues to surprise us. We announced early last week that the Repasky Family made an extremely generous donation for this year's John J. Repasky Award that made it possible to provide a cash award for first, second, and third place winners for the Best Decorated Fire/EMS Vehicle.

This week we received additional financial support from Howard Elmer Hose Company, Bishop Brothers Construction, and AMP Global Strategies which has made it possible to increase the amount of money awarded.

This year's first place winner for Best Decorated Fire/EMS Vehicle will receive $1,000.00, second place will receive $800.00, and third place will receive $600.00.

The Repasky Family, Howard Elmer Hose Company, Bishop Brothers Construction, and AMP Global Strategies would like to thank our local Fire Departments and EMS providers for their tireless efforts to keep our community safe.

One of our favorite parts of the annual Christmas Parade is seeing the decorated fire trucks from throughout the Valley and communities on both sides of the border. The award for best decorated Fire/EMS Vehicle is named after the late John J. Repasky who was a dedicated Sayre Borough Firefighter, Borough Mayor, and the Grand Marshal of the very first Christmas Parade back in 1999. The John J. Repasky Award has been sponsored for many years by the Howard Elmer Hose Company and in recent years, the Repasky Family and Bishop Brothers Construction added to the pot of prize money.

We are excited to announce that thanks to an extremely generous donation by the Repasky Family we will be able to award prize money for first, second, and third place awards for this year's parade.

First Place $600.00
Second Place $400.00
Third Place $200.00
