We have two programs coming up for you tomorrow, Thursday, June 25:

BYO Craft to work on at the library during Crafting Bee, from 10 a.m. until noon. This is a drop-in program, so arrive when you can, and stay as long as you like!

Adults and kids aged 8 & up can learn the art of paper making from one of our Waupaca County 4-H leaders! This program will begin at 2 p.m. and last about an hour. This is not a drop-in program, so be sure to arrive on time so you don’t miss out!

We have two great programs coming up on Tuesday, June 23:

+ Unearthing Solar: Solar Racers from 2-3:30 p.m.
Ages 8+ and adults. Learn about electricity, circuits, and solar energy while you build your own solar racer to take home! (Please call or email the library to reserve your kit for this program.)

+ Book Group meets at 4 p.m. to discuss David Rhodes’ novel “Driftless.” Arrive a little early to enjoy fika (beverages and treats) with us too!

We'll be CLOSED Friday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth, but we'll re-open with regular hours from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. on Saturday, June 20. Families and people of all ages can learn about the earth, it’s processes, and natural formations during this 4-part series presented by local, retired science educator, Bill Wendlandt!

Our first program of this series takes place Monday, June 15 from 2-3:30 p.m.. Bill will present a geologic history of the earth complete with posters, stories, and rock samples, including pieces from Mt. St. Helens and a Colorado gold mine! Take an earth core sample home with you!

Additional dives covering different geological subjects will take place on June 29, July 6, and July 20. Follow the event link in the comments. Attend one session or all four!

Don't miss the library's summer kick-off event: Unearthing Treasures with Dr. Connie this Saturday, June 13, from 10:30–11:30 a.m.!

Learn to identify sea shore treasures with certified diver and ocean explorer, Dr. Connie Haack-Hurlbut!

Unearth stories of the ocean as you learn about, compare, and identify some of the many sea glass treasures Connie has brought back from her sea shore excursions.

Take home your own piece of sea glass!

Everyone is welcome to attend this summer kick-off event — families and all ages!

Join us at the Scandinavia Public Library for a summer of fun!

Stop by the library to sign up for our all-ages summer reading program. This year your reading will move your personal dinosaur through a timeline of earth's history, earn Book Bucks to spend at our Scandinavia businesses, and contribute to our community reading goal with an end of summer party as a reward!
