Hey newbies! Did you know Scappoose used to have a sauerkraut factory? It's true! Thousands of cabbages were turned into shredded pickled vegetables in downtown Scappoose. While you can no longer enjoy the smell of pickled cabbage fermenting, you can still enjoy the famous Scappoose Sauerkraut Sandwich coming back for one day only at the Scappoose Summer Outdoor Fun Festival June 6 in Heritage Park from 9 AM to 3 PM. Food, fun, and prizes.
